"Fuck! Are you kidding?" There is absolutely no food in this house! I've been going through the fridge, pantry, and cupboards for the past 5 minutes and all I've found was some caned beans, bag of popcorn seeds, and some dressing and condiments in the fridge.
"Mom! Where's all the food?" I yell up the stairs, knowing she must be in her room.
We were both gone at my aunts for the past two weeks and left my brother, Carter, here to watch the house.
Big mistake.
Once we walked through that front door we were greeted with half eaten pizza boxes, chip bags scattered here and there, Oreos stuffed inside the furniture, and ketchup & mustard stains in the rug. Not only was it a pigs stye but our cat Mr. Nibbles is missing.
"Apparently everywhere." She responds, poking her head out of her bedroom door.
"He literally destroyed this house, mom! How is he not in trouble?" I frustratedly stomp my foot on the ground that probably only made me look childish.
The thing is, Carter is a year younger then me, and he practically gets away with anything and everything. Him being the youngest gives him the power to just flap his pretty little eyelashes and win any argument with my mother. It's extremely annoying.
"He is in trouble! I took his Wii or whatever it's call away for a week."
"He doesn't even ever play the Wii!" I groan in frustration. "I think I'm going to go to the store." I reach out to the keys on the mantle by the door and slip on a pair of flip flops that is basically my everyday entire for the summer.
"Here. Take this. It's a list of things we need. Here's some money too." My mom came up behind me and handed me a folded up piece of paper and cash.
"Thanks. I'll be back soon." I say, then leave the house.

After parking our small silver Toyota in front of the store, I walk in and quickly grab a cart, knowing I won't be able to hold everything in my hands.
I take out the list my mother handed me before I left and looked it over. A majority of the items were food but there was also plenty of other items on the list, such as toilet paper and beauty products my mother wants.
I decided to just start with the toilet paper and make my way around.
While I'm waking to the aisle I believe the toilet paper is on, I start passing by the clothing section. As I look around I find there is nothing but loads of jean shorts and tank tops as the majored of the merchandise. A exact replica of what I was wearing now. Though there isn't much else you would be wanting to wear in 100° weather.
When I make it to the aisle, I find it abandoned. No one there besides me. Not that I'm complaining. I don't really need someone looking over my shoulder to see what brand I use for the restroom.
I march my way to my paper and quickly throw it in the cart. I start pushing my cart back out of the aisle when another cart completely ran into mine at an alarming fast and powerful rate, knocking my cart to the side and tripping me on my bum.
When I look up, from my new position on the ground in front of the aisle, I see a tan, tall male hoping off the back of a cart and rushing to my side.
"Oh, shit! Sorry, I didn't see you there." The man in a red polo and khakis bent down and helped me back on my feet, using my arms.
"It's fine." I say, running a hand through my hair.
The more I look at the boy, I notice how young he is. Couldn't possibly be older than 18 if not 17 like me. He had soft looking jet black hair and was tall enough to tower over me.
