She'd packed away all the groceries, refusing his help. He sat at the kitchen island watching her.
When she was done, he came towards her. "What?"
James frowned before answering the edged question.
"I'm not the one who made you angry."
She pushed passed him since she didn't want to unleash her anger on him.
He held her hand as she passed and pulled her into his arms.
She didn't bother struggling. He was stronger than her and she was too tired from feeling emotional to fight him.
As she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his clothed chest, she almost didn't hear what he'd said.
"What?"
James pushed her hair out of her face and repeated himself.
"I want a kiss?"
"Why?"
"Because your aunt clearly upset you and I want to make you feel better."
"And you think a kiss will help?"
"Well it will distract you and I really want to kiss you."
He pouted. Jan laughed , she couldn't help it. She'd been mad but now she was amused by a 6ft 2 mad man who continued to confuse her.
"No."
"What do you mean no?"
" I mean I can't kiss you."
"We're not in the hotel anymore. You kissed me before."
Jan sighed.
"If I kiss you, will you stop talking?"
James nodded. She sat on top of the kitchen counter. James had insisted. He wanted her at eye level with him even though Jan wasn't exactly a short woman.
He stared at her a moment before touching her neck.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
Jan nodded.
He moved towards her and moved his head to the side.
At first, he only pressed his lips against hers, his lips were soft and for once she didn't mind how close he was and that he kept touching her neck with his hands.
He continued to kiss her like that and Jan couldn't take it anymore. She opened her mouth a bit and James did the same. He tangled his tongue with hers before groaning into her mouth.
She was enjoying this, it wasn't like their usual kisses that were rushed and hurried.
He was taking his cool time and Jan felt like she'd go crazy, he stopped suddenly and nibbled on her bottom lip before licking it.
She'd never had a kiss quite like this, she didn't mind the beard that was tickling her face or the hand that had lowered to grasp her breast.
He broke the kiss and licked her chin before kissing her throat.
Jan tried to keep her moans at bay. The last thing she wanted was an audience.
He continued to kiss her throat and she could feel the goosebumps rise on her skin.
She draped her arms around his neck and arched her neck giving more access to her throat.
She snapped her eyes open when she felt his hand slip under her shirt.
She pushed his hand away and jump off the counter and away from him.
"I'm sorry Mr Dalton."
James stared at her for a moment and wondered how this woman had learned to move so fast.
One minute he'd had his hands on that wonderful body of hers, the next she was standing on the other side of the counter ,apologising.
The knock on the door, didn't help the situation. He'd planned to go get her because he wasn't done with that kiss.
For a moment he swore he'd imagined it but the way he was feeling right now, he wanted a do-over.
He planned to get it too.
"I'll get it."
Jan stared down at his shorts. She winced and motioned towards him.
James stared down.
He turned red and went in the other direction.
He didn't bother looking at Jan as he passed but he still managed to slap her ass.
She jumped and headed towards the door.
She was glad that it was all wood and that she'd left all the blinds closed.
She'd have given the neighbors a show .James sat on his bed, looking down at the erection that was pointing up at the sky. He hadn't meant to but he couldn't help it. She was intoxicating and who knew she could kiss like that.
And she'd let him touch her until she'd jumped away. This woman confused him.
She wasn't like the women he usually dated. She wore no makeup, she didn't care much for clothes or shoes and she didn't moon over him like most of the women when they knew he had money.
He laid back, willing his erection away. He sighed.
