Have you ever wanted to get closer to someone? But you know that you can't because you will end up hurt? We are all meant to suffer in a way...that's what it means to be alive.

Amy thought of it, again and again. The blue hedgehog in front of her was Sonic, his body was but not his memories. Rouge found Sonic a few days ago. Shadow wasn't even aware of it until Amy and him had arrived at his house and they were both shocked at the moment.

"I found Sonic in Forbidden Forest not too long ago, I had nowhere to bring him so I brought him here", Rouge said as she drank a bit of tea. "When he woke up, he had no memory...he doesn't remember who he is nor his friends"

Everyone was sitting on the dinner table, enjoying their tea one sip at the time. Shadow placed his backpack on the floor and as he heard the hair decorations clash with each other due to the metal; he made a note to himself to hide them before Amy finds out about them. Sonic didn't say much, he was quiet and seeing him like this wasn't pleasant for Amy.

"Why did you try to run away, Sonic?" Amy was really trying to control herself. She really wanted to hug him and tell him how much she missed him. However, she knew she couldn't, she didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

"I want to get answers", Sonic looked down at his tea then at Rouge. "Since Miss Bat over here won't speak about my past!"

"Hey, you should be more thankful, I saved you...and besides I was waiting for Shadow to come back...I am not very familiar with memory loss so I think someone who has experienced it before should be more suitable for telling you about your past" Rouge looked over to Shadow who just nodded with his head. She then looked at Amy and remember to ask Shadow the important question.

"Anyways Shads, why did you bring Amy over here? You said you were going to get some money to save your village and I don't see any"

"His...village?" Amy asked Rouge who was surprised to know that Amy wasn't aware of Shadow's situation.

"Oh, you don't know sweetheart? Shadow is actually the leader of this village and-"

"Can I talk to you in private, Rouge?" Shadow said as he stood up from his seat, Rouge took this as a sign to follow him outside the house and she did.

Sonic and Amy only looked at Rouge and Shadow leave the house. For a moment, everything made sense to Amy. Now that she actually thinks about it, it all made sense to her, Rouge was that one individual Shadow is in love with. She was beautiful and has always been supportive of Shadow from the beginning. Rouge was very unlike Shadow, she was confident and always knows what she wants. However, Amy has noticed that Shadow indeed is a bit shy and although he acts like he is confident and full of himself, he has more doubts that anyone else. She was going to make sure that Rouge and Shadow will get together no matter what. This way, Shadow would be aware that love does exist.

"So, you are Amy Rose?"

Amy's thoughts were interrupted by the blue hedgehog in front of her. Honestly, the question hurt her, but she wasn't going to let this whole situation get the best of her. Right now, Sonic needed her.

"Yes, I am", Amy said smiling.

"HOW COOL! PEOPLE IN THIS VILLAGE TALK A LOT ABOUT YOU! IS IT TRUE THAT YOU HAVE A POWERFUL HAMMER AND WITH IT YOU FOUGHT AGAINST THOUSANDS OF ROBOTS? IS IT TRUE THAT YOU WERE CAPTAIN OF THE RESISTANCE AND THAT-", Sonic stopped himself. He realized he was fanboying over her, but so far, all Rouge would tell him is about everyone else's stories but his. He was so into talking to Amy that he didn't realize that he stood up from his seat. Looking back at her, she looked scared and decided to slowly sit down again.
