Chapter 34

---[Reader's POV]---
After that whole ordeal at the park, Shota and I went back home for lunch, since you had actually wanted to stay home the rest of the afternoon.

There wasn't really much to do, since we weren't interested in any movies at the time and Shota didn't like festivals or crowded places. And so, home is where the heart is, naturally.

"Instant noodles?" Shota asked, taking out two containers of those.

"Sure." We were both too lazy today to cook, and after a few minutes, took our time to eat the noodles.

After finishing, we weren't sure what to do. He had told me he wanted to take me to a special restaurant for dinner, but there was still plenty of time before dinner.

"What do you want to do, [Y/N]?" Shota asked me.

I shrugged. "You're the one who asked me on the date."

"...park?"

"We were just there, Shota." I giggled. "You want to hang out with Hizashi and the others?"

"We were just at the park with them! They were stalking us!" Shota retorted. "Didn't you say you want the day to ourselves?

"I know, but hanging out with friends is more fun! We can have the night to ourselves."

Shota blew out air and pushed his hair back. "Fine...."

"Yes!" I yelled happily. I took out my phone and called Meleoron. "By the way, how long have we been together now?"

"About a month?"

"And I've only slept once for a few minutes, right?"

"Yeah. It's amazing you can stay awake for so long. A normal person would be dead by now."

"The world isn't normal, Shota. And yeah, time seems to pass by so fast." When Meleoron picked up, I asked him where he was.

Surprisingly, he was hanging out with Nemuri and Hizashi. "Could we hang out with you guys?"

"Sure, but aren't you two on a date, needing alone time?" He chuckled.

"Yeah, well, someone didn't plan out the date completely so I decided to hang out with friends," I explained. "Then we'll have the evening to ourselves."

"Sure, of course. We'll meet you at the school alright?"

"Why there?"

"....We wanted to play games and the school had space and stuff?"

"What do you mean 'games'?"

"Hide n' Seek." It was a low mutter but you heard. "It was Nemuri and Hizashi's idea, okay? They wanted to see how well my quirk is!"

I laughed. "Okay, okay. I guess we can play other children games to pass the time!"

"Alright, cya."

I hung up the phone, then looked to Shota who was waiting patiently. I walked to the door, opening it. "They're at the school.... Last one's there a rotten egg!" I quickly got out and slammed the door behind me, running as fast as I could to the school.

"Hey, that wasn't fair!" I heard Shota yell behind me.

"You're faster than me, so a headstart for me is fair!" I yelled back. I assumed Shota was going to go above on the buildings to get there quickly, but I knew a shortcut from Shota's to the school's.

A few minutes later, we arrived at the same time. We were panting slightly, but it was fun. "Jeez [Y/N], I didn't know you were so competitive." Shota brushed his hair back with his fingers, messing up his bun a bit.

I laughed. "Admit it, you were having fun, too!"

He huffed, but didn't admit anything like the stubborn man he is. "Anyways, where's the others?"

We entered through the gates, and I immediately spotted Meleoron sitting in a tree. "There's Mel!" I say, pointing.

"Where?"

Meleoron saw me pointing at him, then quickly put a finger to his lips, telling me to be quiet. I realized that the Hide n' Seek game he was talking about had started.

I saw Nemuri and Hizashi rounding the corner, looking around and nose in the air. When they saw us, they waved.

"Hey, [Y/N], Shota!" Hizashi called.

"You see Meleoron anywhere?" Nemuri whispered to me. "You quirk allows him to see him, right?"

"I'm not giving anything away," I said, laughing and crossing my arms. "I'm glad you guys are getting along well with him."

"Why were you guys sniffing the air?" Shota asked. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Meleoron climbing down the tree and moving to the back of the school slowly.

"Because Meleoron is completely hidden when using his quirk. We can't see or hear him. We can only smell him," Nemuri explained. "He had unscented cologne, but since we had such a disadvantage, I put a bit of my perfume on him, but not enough to make him super-easy to find."

"Sounds like fun," I chirped. "How long does the game last?"

"10 minutes. If we can't find him within that time, he wins. If he loses breath by then, or we find him, we win. Oh, and, he has to move every minute and can't go back to the same place more than once."

"Shota, let's play with them after they're done!" I suggested, grabbing his arm before he could flee.

"Such childish games...."

I gave him a puppy-eyes look. When that didn't work, I gave him a kitten-eyes look. "C'mon, Shota. It's a date, let's spend some time together with friends too!"

"Yeah, Shota. Please your girl!" Hizashi put his arm around him, winking.

"Then it's not really a date, though...." he muttered, blushing slightly. "But fine."

"Then it's settled!" Nemuri said happily. She checked her phone."Oh crap, Hizashi, we only have 4 minutes left to find him!"

"We spent that long talking to [Y/N] and Shota?" Hizashi freaked out. "Shoot, we need to hurry!"

I laughed. "Here's a hint: He was in the tree, but now he ran away when we were talking."

"Whaaaaat?" Hizashi groaned. "Why didn't you tell us before?"

"I didn't want to ruin the game!"

Nemuri huffed. "So that's why I smelled some of my aroma from there."

Shota and I laughed, then waited as the two attempted to find him. I asked. "Can't they just... track his scent? If they smell it then he's either there or been there."

"That's what I was thinking."

Silence. I looked at Shota with a grin.

"Rock-paper-scissors on who's 'it'?"
