Sirius this chapter ^^
The next time Joséphine saw Sirius Black, she was in the kitchens baking. It wasn't that she liked baking, she wasn't very good at it, but she did like to bake a few things like Crème brûlée, Palmiers and Lemon-Berry Savarin.
She was baking, with the help of nice house elves, Orange-Cardamom Madeleines as she had been awfully home sick and the French desserts reminded her of the only person Joséphine felt had ever loved her, her grandmother Adèle.
Adéle and Gaston Dubois were humble people, whom Joséphine had loved with all her heart. Ostracised from Joséphine for most of her life, the fleeting moment she got to spend with them made up the best moments of her life. They were poor, and never looked down on Muggles and for that her mother had decided to keep them at arms length so not to rattle her fathers family.
Joséphine always thought her mother was embarrassed of her past. She was so used to being the revered Genevieve Seignar, she didn't want to ruin it with people finding out about Genevieve Dubois. The poor girl whose parents cared more about feeding the homeless than they did about rising in the social hierarchy.
Joséphine however had constantly prayed when she was younger to live with her grandparents. Despite living in a small house in a suspicious neighbourhood (constantly turning down Genevieve's offer to live in a manor) they made up for all that they didn't have with the love they did have, and weren't bothered with giving. There wasn't a muggle, magic folk nor creature that her grandmother wouldn't love. She had a heart of Gold and Joséphine could only dream that she would be as kind as her.
She was just about to glaze the desserts when Sirius literally tumbled through the portrait that Remus had let slip to Joséphine was the entrance to the Kitchens.
"Fucking hell moo-" Sirius cut himself off when he saw Joséphine looking at him. "Hey Josie."
"Hello Sirius." Joséphine replied automatically, the manners indoctrinated in her since her birth taking over her.
"What's up?" Sirius awkwardly ruffled his hair before walking towards the French girl.
Joséphine was confused by his question, she didn't know why Sirius was asking her that question seeing as she was new.
"Well, I assume the Great Hall is above here but I can't be too sure."
"What?" Sirius was seriously confused.
"What?" Joséphine was equally the same.
"Oh no!" Sirius laughed when he caught on to her line of thinking. "I mean what's up, like what's up with you?"
