Chapter 9: Treat the Tricky Treat

"Chrizzelle! Nasan na ba si Manang? Malalate tayo omgeeeeee!" Biglang iyak ni Rhine.

"Tangina naman Rhine. Katatawag ko palang 30 mins ago kay Manang. Papunta na, wait ka diyan." Sagot ni Chrizzelle.

"Ang sabi mo sabi niya 1 daw eh wala pa siya!"

"Rhine, 1:05 palang! Ano ba?!"

"Chriz, huy, ang oras tumatakbo hindi mo namamalayan na 1 hour na pala yung lumipas kaya chupchup, every second matters!"

"I know-"

"PWEDE BA?!/SHUT UP!" Sigaw ko from my room pero sa narinig ko, nagkasabayan kami ni Adrianna.

Tumahimik ng ilang segundo. When I made sure none of the two screaming banshees were about to utter a single word, I faced around and resumed on staring at the thing strewn in front of me.

Wear this, two simple words yet it made my insides itch to punch him. Yeah, it's nothing really pero did you ever had that feeling na ayaw mo na pinagsasabihan ka kung ano dapat gawin mo? like it doesn't have to be a massive act pero ayaw mo?

Shut up, don't tell me you didn't ever feel this way.

I stopped glaring at the dress in front of me when I heard the doorbell rang. Needing a drink to ease my headache, lumabas na ako sa room ko papunta sa kitchen.

Nakita ko naman sila Rhine at Chrizzelle na tumakbo para ibukas yung pinto pero eto naman si Chrizzelle, matalino kaya strinetch niya yung paa niya para ilock yung way ni Rhine kaya ayun, hulog.

I resisted the urge to smirk at the scene that took place. Wala pa rin pinagbago.

Pagkabukas ni Chrizelle yung door, may babae naman na nakatayo, nakangiti pa na parang shunga, ang creepy lang to be honest. Ikaw ba naman, bubukas ng pinto tapos yung sasalubong sa mga mata mo eh isang smiling woman. You don't find it creepy? Multuhin ka sana.

Sa likod ng creepy smiling manang are two dudes holding boxes ranging from different sizes. Chrizelle screamed in delight. "Omg! Finally!"

"Potek." Bulong naman ni Rhine who just started picking herself up from the ground, casting a glare at Chrizelle's direction before walking to stand beside her.

"Okay girls, hindi na ako magtatagal. Everything you requested is here. If you need anything, give a call and we'll sort it out. Okay, babush." While she was talking, as if choreographed, the two dudes went inside and put all the boxes to the side and saktong pagkatapos magdalal ni creepy smiling manang ay nasa tabi na sila. Wow ah, planado.

"THANK YOU MANAAAAANG!" And with that, the door was closed.

I leaned on the counter and took a sip again as the two girls rummaged through the boxes. On my peripheral view, I saw Adrianna entering the scene. She gave me a quick glance but since inirapan ko lang siya ibinalin nalang niya atensyon niya sa dalawa. She sighed.

"Ako bahala sa make up ko." She announced.

Bigla tumingin si Rhine sa kanya. "B-but-" Adrianna gave her a look in which napapout naman si Rhine.

Chrizelled looked at me. "About your dress-"

"Nope, we're done talking." I said as I dumped the excess water from my glass sa sink and started trotting towards my room without giving them a glance.

Before I could close the door, I heard Chrizelle mutter, "We didn't even start talking."

"How can you finish a conversation when it didn't even start?"

These bitches need to continue staring 'cos they inflate my ego.

I entered the room alone just as the first song of the night ended so yung mga tao nasa dance floor. Most of them were still holding on to their partner as they whipped their heads to see the newcomer.

I smiled at them sweetly as my eyes scanned the crowd before landing on to someone's eyes who was making his way to my direction. I stayed rooted on my spot, waited for him and when he was finally a step away from me, I was about to say something snarky when he grabbed me by surprise, snaking his arm around my waist, holding my other hand up, and placing his lips near my ears.

"The others are watching," he muttered after a few moments.

I smirked. "Let them watch." Then na realise ko, "What an interesting move to ask a lady for a dance."

I felt him shake in a burst of soft laughter. "If the lady isn't hiding a katana on her back, I'm safe then."

"Dang it, I forgot it at the back of my seat." I joked.

I was wearing a red an black leather and latex Mix dress with a red and black corset. Kinda gives you a female ninja vibes if I must say so. Howard did a good job, actually. Ew but points to that guy.

We were dancing to a slow song but then I felt him subtly stiffening up but he didn't mention anything and continued on our dancing. Furrowing my eyebrows at this, I was about to ask him when my I caught sight of a lone figure sa isang madilim na sulok.

He was holding a cigarette and puffs of smoke would come out of his lips. Holding his eyes for a few excruciating seconds, nagpuff siya balik sa cigarette niya then natakpan ng usok yung mukha dahilan na nawala yung eye to eye contact namin. Umalis siya after nun while nasa ibang direction na yung paningin ko kasi sa totoo lang, palibot ng palibot lang kami ng lalaking kasayaw ko eh.

After that, explosions were heard outside and everybody stopped dancing and all looked at the door. The music stopped and there was a tap on the microphone. The DJ, which is also a student, started talking. "The Fireworks have begun, the real party is startingggg! Whooo!" And with that, the crowd burst into fits of cheers and whoops and an upbeat song started coming out really loud from the speakers. hala sige, bingi na tayo nito bukas. Kung hindi lasing, bingi.

But despite the deafening noise,  I heard someone else say behind me, "It's time Zac."

I looked straight at Zac's eyes which were already looking at me. "It's time." Ulit niya in a soft whisper.
