I believe that things happen for a reason. That things are meant to be placed in a certain place and certain order. Maybe God has OCD quietly and this game is to test your patience or just to make him laugh but whatever it is everything has a purpose but the real question is what is the real purpose of everything?

Meet Ember Lewis.

Me.

I maybe just five feet and seven inches but I play the game of being a couch potato the best in my house. I scooped up the award last year with my brother taking second place and my sister taking third. I'm the middle child of course. My brother is two years older than me and my sister is three years younger than me.

To be honest growing up with two siblings isn't that bad. My brother is practically my best friend and my sister is my little partner in crime. She only blames you if she does something wrong so she won't get in trouble but thankfully my mother catches on quickly. Maybe a little too quickly for my pleasure but she's actually a great mother.

My father on the other hand is the more strict one. He hates the boyfriend talk with my sister and I and loves the girl talk with my brother. It seems a little unfair acknowledging that I'm fifteen but I mean I get where he's coming from. Like why have a boyfriend when no one approves of the relationship and he can't carry you anywhere and he's basically broke.

But sometimes I do get fantasies of how it'll be like to have my very first boyfriend. Oh I could just see it so picture perfect as if in a fairy tale. I, the beautiful Belle in the gorgeous, vibrant yellow gown layered with sparkling gold glitter dancing the night away with the grizzly beast of the north in his finest attire. His eyes are brown just like my caramel orbs and his fur as brown as the hair on my head. The light brown skin of my arms tickle with the hair protruding the neck hole of his blue shirt. Our eyes contact and for a second everything seemed real.

"Ember! Stop day dreaming and come down for breakfast!" Luna said with the loudest and most annoying voice she can muster. I groan before shrugging on my Nirvana t-shirt. Funny. I've never listened to them. Why do I even own this shirt?

"Why are you wearing my shirt? You don't even listen to Nirvana Emby." A half naked Elliott said before passing besides Luna and jumping on my freshly made bed. "Hey! I now made that you astrophysicist! Redo it Elly!" I ordered him with a very much angry tone. "Just give me my shirt and put on another one. We literally have no time at all." He said with his hand prompted up to support his head. I pursed my lips before taking it off, " Here. I didn't like it that much anyways." I said in mumbles. I threw it towards him and he shrugged it onto himself.

A loud snort echoed throughout the house from downstairs. "Oh no!" All three of us said at the same time. "She has arrived. I repeat the hog loving snorter has arrived." Luna yelled under her voice and ran frantically throughout my room before burying herself under Elly. " Hide me you big log!" She said digging herself under him. He pulled the coverlet over both of them," Can you see us?" He asked from under the covers. "Yes. Y'all look like a rock vomit. " I said looking at the grey blanket that has now behind rumpled while taking out a fall out boys band t-shirt from my drawer.

"You think we should-" I began asking but both of them answered before I could even finish," Nope!" They said. I jumped on the both of them, " Do you even know what I'm about to say?" I asked laughing. "We're not going down there." Luna said in muffles.

"Where are my little chickies?" Aunt Jenna said coming up the stairs. "Oh no. Hide me." I whispered. Elly pulled me under the covers swiftly. "Nobody say anything." I whispered again. "Oh there they are! Playing hide and seek!" She said walking to the room. "Shit! Who is the moron who left the door opened?" I asked. Elly looked at me bluntly while Luna peeked out from under him. " You moron." The said in unison.

A stench crawled it's way under the blanket and sneaked into the fresh air we were once breathing. " What's that smell?" Luna asked covering her nose. "You're aunt." Elly whispered to her. We all sat up and remove the covers from over us. "Hi aunt Jenna." We hesitantly said with forced toothy smiles on hour faces.

Our parents came behind her and stood at the doorway. My father's nose and mouth seemed confused. I don't know whether he's tasting or smelling or both. My mother rubbed her neck feeling discomfort wash over all of us besides aunt Jenna. "Kids. Get up and hug your aunt." Mommy said in the smoothest of voice. "Wicked." I muttered under my breath. She smirked whilst leaning against the doorway, "Go on kids." She said.

"I don't bite. Come give me a hug." Aunt Jenna said. We slowly got up and approach her. Fun fact our aunt works on a farm and working on a farm kind of earns you a variety of scents but luckily aunt Jenna obtain all of those like a badge and wore them proudly. It's not that we scorn her...it's just that the scent is really unbearable and thick with disgust. It's like witchcraft gone wrong.

She pulled us in and tightly hug the life out of us. "I can't breathe." I heard Luna struggled to say. I felt like my air supply was being stolen from me. Aunt Jenna pulled away finally letting us breathe. "I have a gift for you all." She said smiling. "Come downstairs and you'll see." She said walking out my room. My parents moved out of the way for her to pass and followed her downstairs.

"Yay! Gifts!" Luna said excitedly before running after them. "She's going to be pissed." Elly said taking up the air refresher on my nightstand and spraying it around the room. He opened the window for the breeze to blow the stench out of the room. "You're telling me. We need to go to school...like now." I said to him while pointing at the alarm clock on the nightstand. "Shit it's eight! We're going to be late!" He said picking up my bag off the ground and going to his room.

I run into Luna's room and picked up her bag from the floor. We meet back at the top of the stairs before running down. "Luna we need to go!" I shouted at her from the bottom of the stairs. "Aww." She giggled from outside. Elly and I looked at each other after hearing a bark. "You don't think?" I asked him. "No." He replied before a puppy ran into the house. "Milo come back!" She laughed running after him. My mouth dropped. "Aunt Jenna really brought something good this time. I knew she always like Luna better than us." Elly said with disappointment laced in his voice.

"Well I mean after we put ice down her back and throw soup water on her I think she rathers the child that didn't prank her throughout the years." I said looking at the puppy that's being cuddled by Luna. I shake my head to come out of my mesmerized state. "Ok let's go." I said snapping Elly out of his mesmerized state as well.

I run to the kitchen to grab our lunches. In this house there's a procedure that has to run on the morning. Elliott carries my bag, I carry Luna's and Luna carries Elliott's bag. I don't know why but we just do that and I get our lunches that mom prepared for us. Elliott drives us to school and Luna basically does nothing. She's literally a couch potato and I think she's trying to thief my award.

I picked up the three bags on the counter and hustled to the car. Elliott uses my mom's car because now she's a work at home mom. Something about YouTube or Instagram. I can't really remember what it is but for a thirty nine years old, she looks pretty good. My dad on the other hand loves to drive so he's a camera man for the local news. He's the guy the news station sends out when accidents or something exciting and news worthy happens.

I got into the front seat of the idling car and buckled my seat belt. Whilst buckling I heard a 'Moo' come from next to us. I slowly look up to see my father taking out a picture with aunt Jenna next to a cow while my mother play with the puppy. "Is that a cow?!" I exclaimed with an almost fainting facial expression. "Be nice Emby! That's Cali. She's Jenna's ride. Apparently it ran out of gas." Elly said, looking at the cow in front of us. " Yeah and Cali has feelings. She's very sensitive." Luna said from in the back.

"What?" I said, tightly pressing my eyes closed and shaking my head. When I opened my eyes I swear to God I just see that cow cross eyed me. "A sensitive psychotic cow. What a morning." I said under my breath. "Let's just go please...and most likely never come back." I said before Elly put the car in reversed and drove away from home. Well it's been a wonderful morning.
