The next two weeks went on in a blur of intense planning and detailing which by the end of it all resulted in a successful raid of the drug factories. You and Jangmi had partaken in one of the headquarters, taking down already known criminals. While the raid was a success, you were unhappy. It hadn't taken you much closer to Jooheon, only weakened and angered him. Walking home from work, you sighed at the sky, spotting how the already setting sun brought rain. Was your life ever anything else than work? You don't remember when last time you came home and just let it all go, and was allowed to think of other things.
A pair of strong headlights shone at you from a car which pulled up from around the corner. Your first instinct was to find it annoying but then realised the car was driving right at you. In a surprised instinct you threw yourself to the side to avoid being hit but found that the car harshly stopped centimeters away from where you had stood. Perhaps drunk civilians? One could have hoped, but instead, four dark-clad figures quickly surrounded you with guns.
"We can do this the easy or the hard way. Get in the car." A woman instructed. You recalled your training which had prepared you for situations like these. Not risking your life in a situation which was evident to end it should you resist, you nodded and followed her instructions. The car was uncomfortable with two benches and one flickering light in the big room at the back. You were surrounded by the four who kept a strict silence and close eye on everything you did. Knowing better than to ask who they were and where you were going, you kept your mouth shut and tried to keep track of which turns the car took and for how long you drove. Despite having trained for this, you failed. They took too many turns, and drove for too long, eventually resulting in you tangling yourself into a mess. As the car stopped, you got a bag over your head and was forced out of the car. It didn't take long until the cold air outside replaced itself with a warm indoors. As someone sat you down on a cushioned chair, the bag was removed and revealed a red velvet room. Heavy curtains, tailored with golden thread, hung down beside white pillars and in the floor was covered in a red carpet. The extravagant room had a white, round, table in the middle where you now sat in front of a man with blond hair and blue eyes. He was Russian, it was easy to tell. What the hell did the Russians want with you?
"[Y/N] [Y/S]. Welcome to The Bratva." He said coldly, staring at you with piercing eyes.
"I don't feel very welcomed." You snapped back, looking around for a way to escape. There stood six guards by each pillar, and the door was hidden behind a curtain. Where did you enter?
"Don't try anything, detective. We're simply going to have a ... chat." The man explained.
"What do you want, then?" You frowned, knowing very well that their type of chatting wasn't very nice at all.
"Oh, you don't know, then? Strange." He looked surprised, "Jooheon and his mafia has something I want, some sort of drug that will give you endless life."
A drug... That made you think of the first case you thought was a murder, but turned out the drug had stopped the heart from beating and the human from breath, but still kept him alive. You felt stupid for thinking about vampires, because obviously there was no such thing, but it was creepy how alike the case was...
"What do I have to do with this?" You knew you had investigated the case but you didn't know much about the drug.
"Because, for some unknown reason, he has made this feud with you personal." The Mafia leader hissed. "It's like he cares about you. So, I'm doing what I do best, using it to my advantage."
"If you're going to try and blackmail him with my life, you'll fail." You arched both eyebrows. Jooheon, cared for you? No, surely it was just a personal vendetta. All you had ever caused Jooheon was problems... And how come the Russian Mafia knew about it and you hadn't seen Jooheon for weeks? You had a feeling there had been a lot happening behind the scenes without you taking notice, and it annoyed you.
"No.. You see, I don't think so." He insisted, then raised himself from the chair to lean closer to your face. "And you're going to suffer to ensure I won't be."
A pair of sturdy hands grabbed your shoulders and pulled you off the chair. You were strong, but they were stronger, and ultimately the last thing you saw was the cold stare from the mafia leader before another bag was pulled over your head and everything went black.
