Your head was pounding violently and whenever you moved some limb was soaring in pain. Where were you? The surface beneath you was soft and warm, and you no were no longer tied to a chair. You opened your eyes, finding yourself in a large bed with velvet sheets and too many pillows for them all to be useful. The room was grand and beautifully designed in dark and deep colours, giving it a mysterious husk. There was a couch, dinner table, a bar, stairs leading up and several doors. Pulling the duvet aside you spotted how your clothes had been replaced with a simple gown. You blushed wildly, wondering who had undressed you and for what purpose. As you sat up, pain shifted in your abdomen, instinctively making you place your hand on it. A sturdy bandage was wrapped around your belly and leg, revealing the reason for the undressing. Who had patched you up? Whose flat was this? Determined, you got out of the bed and slowly made it across the floor. A massive window had replaced a wall, revealing the immense view of Seoul in the night. So you were in a penthouse of sorts, maybe? What had happened last night? You tried to recall, then remembered the shootout... And the gun pointed at you... Jooheon. He hadn't shot. Were you in his place? Nervosity shot through your entire body, pulling at your limbs. From one den of the enemy to another. You had to get out. The search for your clothes would be in vain, so instead, you made it for what seemed like the obvious door out. A button summoned the elevator, and you quickly made it inside, pressing ground floor. Once you were outside, someone would be able to lend you their phone and you could call Jangmi. As the elevator door opened, your heart sank and jolted at the same time; feeling your pulse spurt sky-high once more like a deer in the headlights you were met with a wall of seven deadly gorgeous bachelors with poisonous gazes. If it wasn't for the fact that you spotted Jooheon in the front a second later, you wouldn't have taken the group of men for Mafia leaders at all. In fact, they each looked perfectly normal and someone your mother would love if you brought home. The next second you felt extremely vulnerable; you were in a fair gown that wasn't yours, you didn't have any of your gadgets and you were wounded. Jooheon looked up from his phone and eyed you carefully. You hated it. He was in total control.
"I think it's best, [Y/N], if you go inside again." He insisted with a plain voice, yet demanding.
"I think it's best, Jooheon, if you let me go. I am a Detective in the government police force, holding me here agai-.." You began but was hastily interrupted.
"I'm, we're, not holding you here." He put his phone down in his back pocket and stepped aside from his spot in the elevator. The other six followed out, still observing carefully. You looked between them and the elevator, then made the obvious choice and quickly headed for it.
"But of course... This would be your only chance to get in the mind of the Mafia." Jooheon said slyly behind you, "Before you go back to your endless chase."
You stopped in your tracks. He was right. You were in his den, with the actual leaders of the mafia. You would never get that chance ever again.
"What are you doing?" Changkyun hissed at Jooheon but was silenced with a gaze from Minhyuk and Shownu.
"We won't lay a finger on you, just stay for a discussion." Jooheon tilted his head, "Dinner, perhaps."
"You won't lay a finger on me." You turned around and stared coldly at the man who smiled at the reaction.
"No fingers." He fluttered with his fingers in the air and then put them behind his back. The six who had observed the situation seemed to grow impatient with it and eventually, one after another went elsewhere to do something else. It was surprisingly casual, you noticed. One would think a leader in the mafia would sit and sharpen knives and only do business, but most of them retorted to reading, playing video-games or working out in the gym. Jooheon motioned for you to step inside again, which you did cautiously.
