Warriors: A Silver Moon Rises

Chapter 4

             I raced by her side, probably thinking the exact same thing she was...please don't let this be the doing of Shadowclan! But there was no way of knowing until clues were found, and questions were answered.

   " Do you really believe Shadowclan would do something like this," Angelheart asked, hoping I would say no. But in all honesty I couldn't say. Those cats were always finding new ways to prove they were better or stronger, I wouldn't be surprised If they did do this. I kept my mouth shut and followed Dovewing to the spot where she found the dead prey.

  

We arrived at the spot where the dead prey was found, animal bodies were strewn around the area. I padded up to a dead rabbit and looked it over. I found no signs of teeth or claw marks, it was strange..there appeared to be no signs of cat damage at all. There was a strange object inside of the rabbit though, it appeared to be the cause of the rabbits death. I found one inside all the animals.

   " Firestar, Shadowclan had nothing to do with this, it appears to be some two-leg object," I said with a worried expression

   " Two-legs?.....why would they do this sort of a thing?" he asked with a confused look on his face.

  " You are not going to like this idea at all, but I suggest we find a kitty pet and ask them," I stated.

   " No, we don't need to...I know someone who knows things about two-legs, I'm gonna need you to come to Shadowclan with me Silvermoon," Angelheart explained.

   I could feel the fur along my spine rise as we slowly made our way into Shadowclan territory.

   " Angelheart do you know what you're doing," I asked, every one of my nerves on edge.

   " We need to speak with Shadowtail, he knows things about two-legs," she said quite bluntly. I could tell from her tone of voice that she to did not feel comfortable here.       We should have brought Firestar with us, in case it was a matter for all clans to worry about, i thought to myself. 

  When we arrived at the Shadowclan camp, I had Angelheart walk beside me as I didn't want her to run off and cause trouble.  The dark cats were hissing at us as we padded straight into their camp.

    "  We must speak with Blackstar and Shadowtail immediately," I said as I stared down a dark grey she, who looked like she was ready to kill me at any moment.

   " Calm yourself Bitterfrost, If these cats need to say something then let them say it," Blackstar said, motioning the angered she away with a flick of his tail. " Now what did you need to talk about," he said right as Shadowtail appeared at his side.

   " Two-legs have come into our part of the forest and killed prey, and we fear they might come for your prey to. We don't know how to explain the prey's death, but there is a strange two-leg object that seems to be the cause, and we thought Shadowtail could help us figure out what's going on," I said, hoping Blackstar understood what I was saying. He spoke with his deputy for a brief moment, then told us to lead him to the dead prey, Shadowtail following close behind.

  

When we arrived back with the clan, you could easily feel the tension and fear hanging in the air like a limb on a tree. Firestar was talking with the giant group of warriors, probably telling them to not touch any of the prey till we knew what this was.

   " Firestar, we have brought Blackstar and Shadowtail," I said as I nudged Shadowtail closer to Firestar and the rabbit I had been looking at earlier. "He can help us figure out what is going on", I finished.  We all watched as Shadowtail carefully looked at the rabbit, he would occasionally move it from side to side to get a better view, and then he began to speak.
