You're the warm ray of sunlight
that grazes my cheek in the morning,
like the way my fingers graze the sunflowers in the field of my thoughts.
You're the thunder from the heavens
that echoes in the atmosphere,
like our song echoes through my earphones.
You're the long car ride home
that gives me an experience of contentment,
like the experience I get watching the sky turn from blue to yellows and pinks when we call.
You're the cloudless skies
that paints the firmament,
like your laugh paints a shining smile on both of our faces.
You're ice cream on a hot day
that reminds me of a simpler time,
like being reminded of childhood games we used to play.
You're the feeling of accomplishment
that arrives when you speak,
like the ultimate arrival of freedom at the end of a very tough day.
You're the loose ponytail in my hair
that I keep tightening,
like I tighten our bond because how could I ever let you go?
