Knees brought up to my chest
By the lake filled with her tears
I grasp my crucifix
And call out to the heavens
Where is she? Give me the
strength to help her, Lord.
I reach out to the water with
trembling limbs and the liquid ripples
It has a mind of its own
Spelling out the words
She's right here. And always
has been as you've done for her.
I shiver and wrap myself up
In my coat and close my eyes
But it won't give me the warmth
She provides me with
My friend,
I'm right here
I can feel her hug
And I open my eyes
Blinking
Allows my tears to escape
Don't cry love
What have I told you?
I'm whimpering and weeping
And grasping and gasping
Because she found her
Way to me
I'll take those since you've
Stored mine so well
Swiftly my tears are wiped
from my cheeks and added to the
lake of hers so my tears may
put some light in her dark pool
Smiles over frowns
Happiness over pain
Nothing can detach our friendship
From our hearts
