Hi guys! Thank you for coming this far with . . . Captive Heart (of his eyes).

If the eyes are the windows of the soul . . . I also believe that a song is its language!

I've downloaded some songs that I feel might help deepen our connectivity to my story.

I just wish that you will make the time to listen to them. Thank you so much!

Alexa's POV

I knew that Melanie's brother was coming over, I overheard them talking about it, of course!

Oh! And, it wasn't that Melanie was trying to keep their conversations from me. Of course not!

She'd always been very open with me about everything in her life, except . . . when it came to talking about her family! I knew the hows, but the whys was a different story altogether.

Now, today . . . of all days, I kind of had this strong feeling of unease. . . but I wasn't prepared for . . . another encounter with my friend's brother.

I had my own reservations as with regards her twin.

So I decided to sit out as inconspicuously in my favorite corner. I don't know, but I really felt uncomfortably anxious now.

I froze in my seat when our eyes met! My breath now was caught in my throat!

His eyes! I'd recognize them anywhere! And, he gave me that look . . . I saw the spark in his eyes as soon as our gaze connected. It lingered longer . . . gently sweeping over me that it felt like a caress sending chills all over me.

I could only stare at him! However, he cut it short and turned his face back to his sister.

For a minute there, I just stayed rooted in my seat, and like an idiot, my brain refused to function.

Come on!!! I angrily told myself when realization hit me, now completely aware of my transgression.

I moved further back into my seat, trying to appear nonchalant, at the same time feeling so discomfitted that I was discovered when I was trying my best not to reveal my presence . . . and wished wholeheartedly that he'd leave immediately.

The loving smile he greeted his sister was completely wiped off his face when he caught sight of me or rather, when his eyes held mine.

Melanie happily took the boxes of pizza from his hands and placed them on the center table.

"Oh, hello . . . !" Melanie said in a surprised tone.

"You brought someone with you, Gene?" Melanie asked, eyeing her brother when she spotted another person stepping into the living room.

"Umm . . . yeah! Yeah . . . she's . . . umm . . . a golfer, too!" Melanie's brother stammered, his left hand scratching the back of his head, yet smiling unabashedly.

"Hi! I'm Phoebe . . ."

The came forward giving Mel a peck in both her cheeks!

"Well . . . yeah . . . yeah . . . my twin . . . Melanie!" He awkwardly introduced them.

"Hello! Nice meeting you!" The girl greeted my friend with so much enthusiasm.

"Umm . . . yeah! Meet my best friend, Alexa. I call her Alex!" Melanie said, now seemingly uncomfortable as she waved out a hand at me in the alcove.

Why does she have to include me! I felt Melanie was trying to cover up her confusion, and  inadvertently had me included in the conversation.

Now there! That makes us two confused people my friend. I silently told myself!
