Gene's POV

"And here comes our pizza man . . . !"

"Hah! Pizza man, my foot!" I retorted.

"But you are, my brother! And you're here at last . . . !"

I could see that my twin sister was truly happy at seeing me, her version of a big bear hug was amazing from her small frame.

And, believe me, she could do that even in her petite form.

"Well, I was hoping you want pizza for dinner!" I said as I gave her a peck on each of her cheeks.

"I thought you'd never, ever come Gene. Melanie's tight hug was one good indication that I was now forgiven and back in her good graces.

"Hmm, well . . . I thought you were still mad at me, hmm?" I replied impishly.

I had to influence Maman in the installation of that security system, made sure my mother understands why my sister should get one.

"Uh . . . no one stays forever angry with you Gene, and I already missed you . . . !" She answered.

I raised an eyebrow at my twin!

"C'mon . . . Gene! You're my best brother and buddy . . . I really missed you, can't you see that. . . ?" She answered, pouting her mouth.

As if remembering something, she gave me her version of a glare, silently trying to make me understand . . . telling me to stay on the line.

Growing up together, we became each other's alter ego. And even though we are twins, she was my complete opposite. While I was happy being around with people, Melanie sought solace and company in her books.

I knew how Mel tried to put up a brave front and as her twin I tried to be there for her through the rough patches in her.

I salute at her determination to survive and be independent! I appreciate her will to stand up for herself amidst her inner turmoils.

I only gnashed my teeth when memories of my father came to mind. I hate his complete disregard to his children's individual differences.

It was one of the reasons why we wanted to leave home, why we've chosen to live in a foreign country in the first place.

"I can see you got them activated already . . . Mel!"

I was about to put the two boxes of my favorite pizza on the center table, but she took them from my hands instead.

My mind was still on the installed gadgets when my eyes caught sight of something in the shadows.

It's her!!! Yeah, it is the woman who'd been haunting my thoughts lately. I noticed that she'd been trying to sit inconspicuously in the corner, leaning as far back into the love seat, this got me smiling to myself.

"Ohh? Why would she be doing that? Is she hiding from me?" I whispered to myself.

This got me intrigued. I do not know . . . but I'm really fascinated and, curious!

"Yeah! Yeah! This is really good, I'm just glad I had them now . . . !" Melanie's words interrupted my thoughts.

"And who's with you . . . ?" Melanie eyed the woman who stepped into the living room behind me.
