Sorry for a long wait on the chapter, I have had a little writer's block and real life things have been coming up.

Reaper POV

You sat next to her bed in the Gibraltar med bay, you were tired and you haven't gotten out of your combat gear in nearly a week, you kept the mask off because if y/n woke up you wanted her to see a sliver of Gabriel, not Reaper. y/n's heart monitor was finally steady after two nights of her critical state. No one in the base has slept since there always has to be one person guarding for introducers and one guarding the generator and there are only five people in the base altogether and one of them is a sleep-deprived doctor.

It was your turn to rest but you did very little of that, you usually stayed at y/n's bed. You gave a quick glance up to her face but it was too painful to look at her long, you felt it was part of your fault this happened to her and the guilt was eating at you. You felt the little bit of Reyes that was left in you grow as you felt a tear fall down your cheek. You nearly collapsed your head onto y/n's lap as a sob worked its way out of your black soul. You gripped y/ n's hand as you felt your self-break. You snapped out of the sob as you heard someone behind you, you quickly turn to see McCree standing behind you with shock, you quickly turned back to y/n hoping he didn't see the broken man that was now in place of the once cold-blooded killer.

"I didn't mean to intrude I thought you were asleep so I figure I could sneak in to see y/n." McCree said as he pulled a chair up next to you and sat down.

"It's fine..." You wanted to say more but your voice was broken and shaken.

McCree sighed and looked at y/n's face.

"It's my fault too old man." McCree now looked to you with guilt filled eyes.

"Yeah, but if she chose to be with you then none of this would happen." You gripped her hand harder.

McCree brought his hand to your back, you tensed for a minute but gave up slouched forward once again.

McCree gave a sad chuckle and then leaned closer to you, "She knew she was giving up her morals for you, she would probably kill even me for you. Even if you pushed her away she would come back, she knew the consequences and welcomed them with open arms. It's not your fault Reyes." McCree paused "But maybe if you weren't in Talon she could at least have good morals still, but that wouldn't keep her safe either."  McCree didn't give you any time to respond as he stood up and quickly walked out. He said all that needed to be said and his words soaked in and brought some sense back to you.

About an hour went by and you looked up at the holo clock on the wall, it was your turn to guard the base. You kissed y/n on the cheek before heading out into the cold early morning air.

You stood on the cliff side that overlooked the sea that surrounded Gibraltar as the sun began to make its presence known over the water. All this alone time gave you lots of time to think and try to figure out what to do next.

You struggled to keep your eyes open and you almost felt sleep taking you away but you woke up fully to Angela running up to you. You turned to face the out of breath and exhausted Angela.

"...She is awake.." She said still catching her breath but you didn't give her time as you ran off to the med bay in full sprint.

You ran into the room to see Y/n nearly fully awake and McCree and Genji sitting next to her, she looked up to you and smiled. McCree looked at you before nudging Genji in the side and whispering in his ear, and soon they both left the room quietly. You sat down where McCree sat and leaned forward to y/n.

"How are you feeling" You tried to break the silence.

She sighed and looked toward a mirror sitting on the table next to you, "I haven't seen the damage yet, Angela tells me that I look very different."

You chewed on your lip before reaching for the mirror, you held it in your hands and stared at your reflection than at y/n, "You are beautiful as always, remember that." You said with a slight tremor as you hand her the mirror. You held your breath as she held it up to her face, she gasped at her reflection and you felt your heart nearly leave your chest. You were excepting the worst reaction as you closed your eyes tight. You open them again as you hear a chuckle leave y/n.  "What?" You were very confused about why she was laughing. She looked up at you with a black smoke filled grin. "Now we really are made for each other." She laughed. Your confused look now turned into a small grin as you took the mirror from her, "Guess we are."

She stopped laughing and looked more serious now as her cold hand gripped yours and her crimson eyes met your crimson eyes, "I want to go home now."

You kissed her on the cheek. "Then let's go" you spoke quietly as you unplugged her from the machines and lifted her up into your arms. "Lets hurry so they don't notice us leave," she whispered and you replied with a nod.
