noah cameron schnapp

when the last bell rang, i scurried out to get home as fast i could. millie ran up to me. we always walk home together. "why are you in such a rush." she said out of breath. "no reason." i lied. we walked down the streets until we got to the apartment, millie and i lived in the same building. "bye schnipper!" she said as we parted ways on our floor. that was her nickname for me, schnipper. i got into my penthouse and i walked towards my room. and at the dining room table, was my mother. "hi honey, i came home early today." she said sipping her cup of green tea as she read the paper. "hey." i said as i went into my room. i wasn't focusing on the fact that she was actually home, just the fact that i was about to hang out with eleanor. i changed into regular clothes, such as a nike t-shirt, joggers, and my running shoes. i put my winter coat on and exited. "noah, where are you going? i was hoping we could do something." she said. "with a friend." i said as i left the apartment. i closed the door behind me. i put my back to it and let out a deep breath. i began to feel bad, but does she know how many times she's done that to me? i went downstairs to the lobby and went on my way to the park to meet eleanor.  the sun was shining against the snow that wouldn't melt till maybe late february. last holiday season, there was no snow. i walked into the park, passing horse-drawn carriages with tourists and their families in them. she was sitting on the bench first, next to the spot where i caught her. we caught eye contact as i sat down next to her. "you know the park is even prettier at dawn." i told her. "i've been told." she giggled. we both stood up and began to walk, standing close together.  as we got farther away from the bench, we both heard the shutter of a camera go off on someone's phone, there was nobody around us except for a single girl who looked like she was fifth grader. i looked behind us then turned back around. "that was weird." i said. eleanor shrugged her shoulders. "perks of finn wolfhard." she rolled her eyes. the sun began to go down and we kept on walking. "so what brings you here, to the city?" i asked. she looked down at her rain boots than looked back up. "my mom came here for her job, she got transferred." she told me. my heart dropped a little. "so i'm guessing you won't be here for long?" i said. "i'm here for good, this." she said pointing to all the buildings. "is the rest of my life." she continued. "and i'll be here with you." i said. should i have said that? "i used to live in london." she said. "i've been there once, with my parents. but that was many years ago." i told eleanor. "do you like it here?" i asked her. "i love it, i've always loved it. i used to live here but i don't remember it all that much." she told me. "and that explains the 'no accent'." i laughed. "yeah." she laughed back. "but word gets around the school so fast." she said. "yeah. rich kids and their inside people." i smirked. is she going to bring him up? "so you probably heard about finn wolfhard... and i." she said and looked at me. i nodded. "nobody would stop talking about it." i said. "believe me, i know." she said shaking her head. "how did you even meet him?" i asked eleanor. "a friend of mine made me go to one of his shows in london, i mean i had heard of him before but still." she said. i nodded my head taking in what she was saying. "we started talking and the rest was history. but it's all just so horrible."  she told me. i wanted to be the person she could tell anything to. "do you mind if tell you this kind of stuff?" she asked twiddling her thumbs. "you can tell me anything." i said putting my hands into my coat pockets. "we fight a lot. one time it got violent. it's over nothing most of the time. i just can't break up with him, i don't know why." she admitted. i looked into the distance. "are you afraid that if you break up with him, he'll hurt you?" i said without thinking. she didn't say anything back. did i say the wrong thing. "sorry if that wasn't the thing to say. but when the time comes, i'll have your back." i told her.  she smiled at me. "you're right." she said looking down at her shoes. "i need to break up with him." she said. we approached belvedere castle. "there's a castle in the middle of the park? i don't remember this at all." she said walking fast to the castle. she jogged like a little kid to it. "wait up!" i said laughing and jogging up behind her. we climbed up the stairs to the highest point. "this is so pretty." she said looking around. "i bet the castles in england are better." i suggested. she shrugged her shoulders. "this one is in the middle of a park in a big city." she smiled. "here take a picture." she said handing me her phone. she posed, leaning on the wall of the balcony. she smiled as i took the picture. i handed her back her phone. i laid my hands on the snowless balcony, as did she. we were two feet apart. everything was silent besides the sounds of the city. i looked over at her, she was looking out at the distance. i walked over to her and she turned to look at me. before i could get words out, snow started fall. the snowflakes fell gently onto our heads. we both looked up at the sky and then back at each other smiling. if this were a movie, this would be the part where the boy kisses the girl.
