Lawrence's Promise

Tails' POV

"Ugh... I just got another call about your friends," I told Lawrence as I walked into the testing room.

"What happened this time? Please don't tell me it was Grey" Lawrence asked I not taking his eyes of the gem in front of him.

"It's Claude... He was acting crazy. Blaze and Silver said it had something to do with Sage," I told him and he turned and looked at me.

"I figured this would happen," As he put the Gem away carefully.

"What do you mean? Is something wrong?"

"It's love Tails... It's breaking Sonic apart little by little,"

"Love?"

"Yeah... I know it's just hormones and thoughts but the others don't realize that. The others let their emotions get the better of them. Claude takes love the harder than the others. Since some of us let our feelings get the better of them they break. Love is a strong thing Tails... Even I've been affected,"

"I never noticed,"

"When we are all together that pain of love grows and it overtakes over logic. So it's like you beat yourself up for nothing... Since we are apart of him we take his form of mind. When we take his form of mind we each develop our own little disorder,"

"Wait... You guys love each other?"

"Yeah... We do! Some of us are actually dating,"

"Who? When did other emotions date other emotions"

"Well, Leo and Ace are together. Since in Sonic's mind, Leo and Ace usually get the controls at the same time. When they met they immediately fell in love,"

"What about Sage and Claude?"

"One day Claude saw Sage trying to reach for the controls but was pushed away with a lot of force throwing him to the ground. Claude felt bad and started to help Sage. He protected him no matter what happened,"

"What about you? You said before you became a victim of love,"

"I and Grey get along pretty well... We soon started dating since we were always the emotions that Sonic would use during a battle. You and I both know he is in a lot of battles so we got talking and I soon fell for Grey... No matter how big for a nervous wreck he is,"

Just then the phone rang and I looked over at Lawrence. I saw him cross his fingers and I was guessing he was hoping it wasn't Grey that was having a problem. I let out a sigh and went to grab the phone.

"It's Rouge and Shadow... Leo and Ace must be having a problem," I said out loud grabbing the phone.

"These two never cause trouble. Especially when together! They're probably calling about what they heard about Sonic," Lawrence called from the other room as I answered the phone.

-After the call-

"I need a break... I think you do too. I've heard enough about Sonic's emotion problems for one day," I said and fell back onto a chair.

Lawrence shrugged and sat down on the chair next to me. He had a clipboard in hand and was looking through paperwork. I took a glass of water that was set on the side table next to my chair and drank from it.

"Why does everyone tell me about Sonic's problems?" I asked Lawrence out of the blue.

Lawrence looked taken aback by this question. It was like he didn't know how to answer it! He soon took a deep breath and answered me slowly.

"You're Sonic's brother after all. absolutely knows you care about each other and would do anything to help one another. Also me and the others we agreed that if we were to tell our caretakers about Sonic's problems we would tell them to inform you. you were the first one to realize that something was wrong with Sonic. Didn't you know they made Sonic devastated? we never felt Sonic feel so much pain in his life when you knew something wrong," Lawrence told me looking down at the ground.

"You know I always looked up to Sonic. He was always like a year to me and I didn't know I affected him in such a huge way," I told him rubbing the back of my neck.

"Of course you affect him in such a big way. Your brother he cares about you Tails and he would do anything for you. He would swim across the ocean just to get to you. Ever since his brother and sister left him he was alone and when you came into his life he had someone to care for. when he met you and the others it was like he found a new family better than the one he had before. you were the one thing asides from Shadow that made him happy and I want to thank you for that Tails,"

"When you all connected again what will happen?"

"Sonic won't remember anything. He'll probably remember being shot but that's pretty much it. it's up to you guys if you want to tell him that you know about his issues or just keep it in the dark until he's ready to tell you himself. but just promise me this tails... don't wait to tell him after years of knowing. By that time he'll already be broken. Save him tails for me and the others save him,"

All I can do is not. this is such a huge request and I didn't know how to handle all this responsibility. It was always Sonic it was helping me and now I was helping Sonic. I shook Lawrence his hand and I told him that I would do everything in my power to help my brother.
