Knuckle's POV

I woke up right next to the master emerald like I do every single day. The green light shining off the emerald was beautiful like always and was as magical as ever. I soon sat up and looked around to see the sun in the middle of the sky shining rays of light down on my island.

Taking care of Grey wasn't so bad after all. He did get scared of loud and sudden noises. But other than that everything was fine. He doesn't bother me while I'm sleeping and sometimes helps me around the Island.

I looked around for the new guest that I let on the island. But the grey colored, scared, and shy hedgehog was nowhere to be seen. At first, I pushed it off but when I remember that this wasn't Sonic I was dealing with I started to panic. I started to panic even more as I got to my feet to try and look around.

I made my way into the thick jungle on the large island. As soon as I pushed past a large bush filled with fresh berries I heard a quiet yet noticeable whimper. The whimper echoed through the trees and almost the entire forest. I scanned around to see something light grey pocking through the trees.

"Grey is that you? Are you in the tree?" I asked the light grey hedgehog who pocked his head out of the leaves to see me.

"I-I'm in the tree Knuckles... Just look up," He told me and I let out a sigh.

As I was looking up at the grey hedgehog I was squinting. I couldn't see that well so I waited for my eyes to adjust to the lighting. Sure enough, there was the little grey hedgehog in the branch above me.

He was curled in a ball on one of the lower branches. I let a sigh as I saw Grey look down and immediately look back up. With the luck I had Grey was afraid of heights. I could barely see the rest of his body and his head was the only thing I could see clearly from where I was standing.

"Are you able to get down or do you need some help?" I asked him before I started to climb and make my way up the tree.

"I-I think I c-can get d-down w-without y-your help," He told me and I nodded back at him and stepped back to give him a try.

"If you fall I promise I'll catch you... Don't be afraid! You can go as slow as you need to," I told him and held out my arms ready to catch him if I needed to.

Grey nodded and started his way to the tree trunk. He then grabbed on and slowly but surely made his way down. He was inching down and it took awhile. But at least he didn't do what Sonic always did. Sonic would always just right down and onto the ground. When he made it to the ground he tripped forward and fell into my arms.

"How did you know how to get down the safe and easy way?" I asked him and he gave me a confused look.

"I've seen Sonic c-climb jump t-this t-tree multiple t-times... H-He a-always though a-about a safe w-way to do t-things for a b-back u plan," He said with a tiny smile.

"Do your other friends or personality friends know how to climb down the tree?" I asked him as he brushed the dirt, leaves, and dust off himself.

"Nah... I-I'm the o-only one who k-know w-what A-Angel Island l-looks like," He told me and he could sense my questions.

"Why is that? How come none of your other friends knows Angle Island? Sonic has been here multiple times," I commented as we finally started walking back to the Master Emerald.

"L-let me start from the b-beginning," He said as we were walking through and he kicked a rock as he walked.

"Go ahead! I'm all ears!" I told him and he nodded and gave what he was going to ay a little thought.

"When Sonic was younger I was the first. The first emotion he felt was fear. He didn't wake up to parents hovering over him. He woke up on the forest floor. Sonic had to learn and teach himself how to survive. Ever since then I became his leading personality. I've seen almost everything that Sonic sees so I'm kind of used to it by now," Grey told me as he looked up to the sky.

"You didn't stutter that time," I told him and he nodded at me.

"I don't stutter when I'm talking about Sonic... This is a serious matter and I want it to seem that way," He said back as we finally reached the Master Emerald.

"What are you going to do when you guys get put back together? What will happen to Sonic?" I asked him as we both sat down next to the huge green jewel.

"With your guys' help hopefully things will change and for Sonic... He won't remember anything about being split apart. He'll just think he got knocked out," He said as he looked at the sun traveling through the sky.

"Wait... What makes you think we can make a difference in Sonic?" I asked him and he let out a small chuckle.

"The other Personalities of Sonic have already told their stories and thoughts. I was the last one to tell you about what Sonic has been going through. Him being felt in the forest wasn't even scratching the surface of all the horrible things he has been through. But he is lucky to have friends like you," Grey said as he stood up and I gave him a weird look.

"Where are you going?" I asked him as he gave me his hand to help me off the ground.

"My time being alone is over... We're going to put Sonic the Hedgehog back together once again," He told me and ran off with me running after him.
