Weekends in their apartment were usually quiet. Whether it be because either one or both of them were out on hero work, or they were too tired to be productive because of said hero work they finished on weekdays, it was the norm for Mina and Momo’s apartment to be dead silent throughout the weekend. But this time, the quiet was pleasant.
Because, of course, they weren't in their apartment; instead, they were outside. They got lucky, having the opportunity to avoid hero work for this weekend alone. And they were going to take advantage of it, they decided as they went to sit outside in the Sunday morning sun as soon as they woke up.
The land around their apartment was rather pretty, tons of colorful flowers growing in every small field, a large tree having made its way out of the ground to add to the beauty. Mina and Momo liked to watch that field from their window, maybe sitting among the flowers for ten minutes or so before heading back inside to either nap or respond to a villain attack or crime. They were busy people, unfortunately.
But today, they weren't so busy. They sat outside for much longer than ten minutes, hours maybe, if they really thought about it. They made themselves comfortable on a picnic blanket underneath the tree, sitting against the bark, eyes closed, taking in the bright sun that shined heatedly against their skin. They had made flower crowns within the first five minutes of settling down, so both had colorful arrangements of twisted flowers sitting atop their heads. It was quiet.
Mina took a moment to look at Momo, sitting beside her, looking the most serene she’s ever been since they started their careers. Her long black hair wasn't in it’s it usual neat bun, instead it was draped over her shoulders, her fingers absently running through it near the bottom where it almost touched the blanket. She never really noticed how long her girlfriend’s hair had grown out. The flower crown only accentuated how beautiful she looked...
“Momo.”
Momo gave a hum in response.
“Can I braid your hair?”
Momo’s eyes opened to give her a bit of a disbelieving look, but she nonetheless crawled across the blanket to sit down right it front of the pink girl. Mina grinned, “Thank you, love~!”
Momo chuckled, “I wasn’t aware you knew how to braid, Mina.”
“Well, I learned from the best!” Mina exclaimed, starting to section out Momo’s hair, careful not to knock the flower crown out of place. “By ‘the best’ I mean, Kouda.”
Momo hummed. “Kouda? He taught you?”
“Yeah! Turns out, he’s really good at all the cool hair stuff!” Mina said, already beginning on the braid. “I’m totally grateful we still get to stay in contact with everyone from UA.”
“So am I.” Momo agreed, a soft, solemn look taking on her features. She then smiled, though, “Gosh, if I knew you could do my hair then I would have asked a long time ago.”
“Ah, it’s only a simple braid! I’m not too good with the other stuff.” Mina explained as she made her way halfway through the braid. Momo’s crown nearly tipped off before she reached to level it again. “Ooh, it’d be cool to see what my hair looks like in a braid!” Mina had also grown her hair out a bit since she started her career, just long enough for a short ponytail.
“Well, maybe if you’d grow your hair out a bit more, I could do it for you.” Momo offered, half-teasing.
“Well, shit, it’s not my fault my hair grows slow as hell!” Mina laughed in response. “Almost done…!” She then muttered.
Momo smiled, quickly adjusting her flower crown as Mina finished up with her hair. Before long, she felt her new braid fall against her back as Mina let go of it, shouting, “And it’s done! Do you like it?”
Momo brought her hair to rest on her shoulder, running her hand along the tight braid, satisfied. “It’s perfect, I love it. You did a great job.” She turned to plant a soft kiss on the other’s lips.
Mina’s already pink cheeks darkened as she returned a peck on the cheek. “Aww, thank you~! And you, of course, look stunning… As usual.” Mina said, earning a playful hit and a laugh from the now blushing Momo.
Mina bought Momo in for a rather tight hug, snickering as she exclaimed, as loud as she could, “I love you!” She liked to make her love for this woman very clear to the world, Momo noticed.
“I love you, too,” Momo responded, quieter of course, “Now, stop! You're going to kill me!” She tittered, desperately trying to escape her girlfriend’s hold.
All the while, their apartment was quiet.
(Yeah… They could definitely use more moments like these.)
