Annika stared at the divorce papers....
ANNIKA.....ANNIKA.....
Shivaay kept calling her....
But Annika's brain had shut out everything....
Shivaay:"Annika....you ok....say something..."
He shook her to break her out of the shock....
Annika blinked and looked up at Shivaay....
What was he saying anyways...?
Was he saying something....?
Annika:"Sorry, I didn't quite catch that...where you saying something...?"
She said trying to sound normal when all she wanted to do was tear up...
Shivaay:"Annika....tum teek ho...?"
Annika absentmindledly ran her hands through her hair...
Annika:"Yeah....yeah....this is what we want right....no use holding onto a sham marriage actually...."
She stumbled over to the table trying to fight the drowsiness she was feeling....
Annika:"I need to sign..."
She told herself trying to blink away the tears threatening to flow....
Shivaay:"Annika....mera bath suno...please..."
He said turning her to him shaking her...
Shivaay held her closer to him....
Shivaay:"Annika...."
He said to her softly.....
Annika looked straight into Shivaay's eyes....
Shivaay:"Remember our truce...?you promised me a chance right...?"
Annika:"Divorce papers..."
She mumbled holding it in her hands as if it burned her soul....
Suddenly she was that 10 year old kid standing outside her mother's mansion begging her to come back...vulnerable and weak...that scared kid who had put her life's happiness and hope on another person.....
She had guarded her heart so much to prevent this from happening....
She had vowed not to give anybody the power to hurt her again....
To not feel anything.....but she failed against her better judgement....
She had accepted this relationship...and later Shivaay....
She had lied through her teeth about her feelings not wanting to get hurt again....
She had tried to push him away all the time....scared that she would get hurt if he rejected her....like her mother did....
Shivaay:"please Annika... Divorce papers vahi rehne do.....ek baar meri baath tho suno..."
Annika nodded not knowing where this was going....
Shivaay:"Annika Trivedi..."
He said holding her hands securely in his....
"Everything's going to be ok Annika....this isn't the end of the world....you have gotten over it once....you would do it again...."
She told herself....
Shivaay:"You know Annika....my life has always been in darkness... it was all a lie....I was living a lie in order to protect my family....but somehow with you I could be myself....without any pretenses...I could be Shivaay...."
