Ch. 2

It's lunch time. Khalid, Jaden, and Amandla were sitting at the lunch table together. They were enjoying each other's company during lunch.

"Man, I hate Mr. Vasquez." Khalid complains.

"I know, he's so hard." Jaden agrees.

"Well, he's just really strict when it comes to homework." Amandla said.

"Yeah, no doubt, that's why I hated today."

"Jaden, why don't you ever come study with Khalid and I?" Amandla asked.

"Because I'm always busy with my sister." He honestly answered.

She nods. Khalid looks over and saw Ella. She was looking for a spot to sit at. She saw Khalid and instantly smiled. She went to his table with her lunch.

"Is this spot taken?"

"Oh no not at all, have a seat!" Khalid says, moving his backpack for her to sit.

She sat down with him, and began eating. It was silent at the table. Jaden looks around, feeling the awkward vibe. Amandla began sparking a conversation.

"So how you're liking this school so far?"

"Man I love this school so much." Ella smiles. "So many different characters here."

"I'll have to agree with you there." Jaden says.

Amandla nudged his elbow.

"What? She's surely not lying."

Amandla rolled her eyes.

"Well all I know is there's more to this school." Khalid tells her.

"Well I'm looking forward to seeing more of this school." Ella says, smiling.

"Did anyone ever tell you you have a beautiful smile?" Khalid asked.

"Awwww thank you, no one had ever said that to me."

"Awwww Khalid." Amandla said, smiling.

He blushes, causing Ella to giggle. Jacob came to their table. Khalid rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Awhl Hell, here comes the devil." He said.

"What's that?" Ella asked.

"Well well well, Khalid Jaden and Amandla." Jacob said, smirking. "Oooh, and your name is?"

"I-I'm Ella Mai." She answers nervously.

"You are one fine girl." He said to her.

"Thank you."

He took her hand and kissed it. It made Ella uncomfortable. He looks at Khalid.

"Oh my bad, am I disturbing y'all?"

"Why don't you go away." Khalid said annoyedly.

"Shoo! No one likes pests." Jaden added.

Jacob rolled his eyes.

"Alright I'm gone, see you later beautiful."

He waves at Ella, who stares as he walks off. She looks back at Khalid, who doesn't say a word.

"That was... weird." She said.

"Yeah, he's always bullying Khalid." Amandla told her.

She looks at him. He had his head down.

"Don't trip man, he's a punkass bitch." Jaden said.

"Yeah... yeah." Khalid said.

They continue eating their lunch. They started having conversations about what they want to do after they graduate.
