Ch. 14

Khalid made his way upstairs with Jacquees. He really had a bad feeling, going up there. When he made his way on the top of the stairs, he stops to take a breath.

"Yo what's the deal, bro?" Jacquees asked.

"Man I don't think this a good idea."

"Why you feel that way?"

"Bro you should've seen the look Kendall be giving me."

"I know bro, she likes you." Jacquees laughs.

"And that's a bad thing, I'm loyal to my girl."

Jacquees rolled his eyes.

"Just go see her."

Khalid sighs, and walks down the hall. Jacob walked pass him, smirking. Khalid looks back at him, wondering why he was looking at him like that.

"Oh Hell nah, I'm leaving."

Jacquees pulled him back.

"No, don't be a pussy." Jacquees said.

"I'd rather be a pussy than a cheater."

"Bro it ain't even like that, she just probably wanna hang out with you or something."

Khalid rolled his eyes, and went down the hall. He felt it was a bad idea, but what worse can happen? He walks up to Kendall. Zendaya and Tinashe were there too.

"Heyyyy Khalid." Kendall smiles.

"Hey." He said.

"So happy to see you here."

"That's nice." He turns away.

"Rodriquez, shoo!"

"Man I ain't no damn dog!" He snapped.

"Get the Hell out my sight." She orders him.

He rolls his eyes, and went downstairs. Tinashe follows. Zendaya came to Khalid.

"Khalid, be careful hun."

"Daya can you leave please?" Kendall kindly asked her.

She scoffs, and walked away. Khalid felt nervous.

"Look Kendall I got a whole girl, so don't try nothing." He tells her.

"Oh come on, she doesn't gotta know."

She gets up, and sat on his lap. He tried to get her off, but she fights to stay on him.

"Khalid, I'm the most popular girl in the school, don't fight this."

"I don't care if you're the president's daughter, I love my girl." He tells her.

She forcefully kissed him. He tries to resist, but she had a force on him.

"K-Khalid?"

Kendall stops kissing him. Khalid sees Ella Mai looking right at him. His heart dropped. He was lost of words.

"Ella Mai, I-"

She ran away, crying. Khalid's heart broke, seeing her that way. Kendall looks at him awkwardly. Khalid looks at her.

"Look what you've done!"

He walked downstairs. He saw Ella Mai walking out the house. He trails behind her.

"Ella Mai, wait!"

She keeps walking. He ran to her, trying to stop her. He finally got in front of her.

"Please, listen."

"Khalid, how could you do this to me??" She cries. "I thought you loved me."

"I do love you."

"How could you kiss that girl."

"Baby listen she-" he stops, knowing she probably won't believe him. But Kendall Jenner did kissed him.

"She been plotting on me all this time."

"Why would you go to her?"

"Peer pressure, babe."

"You can't let your friends influence you like that." She tells him.

He looks down.

"You've change."

She walks away. He felt hurt from what she just told him. She was right. The popularity did change him. He didn't intend for all this to happen.

Jaden came outside, looking for Khalid. He spotted him, and ran to him. Amandla follows.

"Khalid!" He calls out.

Khalid sat on the bench. Jaden and Amandla sat with him.

"Yo, you okay?" He asked.

"No, Kendall kissed me."

"WHAT??" They said at the same time.

"She did?"

"Yes, and Ella Mai saw it."

"Oh no, Khalid." Amandla gasped.

"She said I've changed... She was right."

"Well, you did let your new friends influence you." Amandla said.

"I know, I feel like a total dumbass."

He gets up, and walked to his car. Jaden and Amandla follows him.

He drives them back home. No word was being said. Khalid was tensed up after what happened tonight. Amandla rubs his back.

"It's gonna be okay, Khalid."

"I doubt it."

"Did y'all break up?"

"I don't know, she didn't say."

He just remember he saw Jacob as when he went upstairs earlier.

"I bet Jacob had something to do with this." He said to himself.

"Huh?"

"Nothing Amandla, just thinking out loud."

He drops them off to their house, and drove back home. He walks in his house, and goes to his room. He lays down, tearing up. He begins to cry quietly. His mom peeps in.

"Well you're home early."

"Not in the mood for partying."

"What's wrong?" She asked, as she walks in.

"Everything... my popularity."

"What happened?"

"The most popular girl in school kissed me."

"Awwww... did you like it?"

He looks at her, as she laughs.

"Oh son, I was kidding."

"This isn't funny, I think I lost my girl."

"Why don't you give her some space?"

"I don't..."

"Khalid, sometimes you gotta let girls cool down, did you try to kiss the girl?"

"No, the girl kissed me."

"Oh Khalid."

He lays on her lap, nearly crying. She comforts him.

"Just give her some space, then explain the situation." She tells him.

She kissed his cheek, and walks out his room. Khalid lays there until he falls asleep.
