Ch. 18

Graduation day...

Khalid's mother, Gabriella, fixes Khalid's bowtie. He wore a white button down shirt, and black slacks. His mother kissed his forehead. He blushed.

"My baby is graduating!!" She exclaims.

"Oh ma." He blushes.

"Oh Khalid, you know I'm proud of you."

"Thank you ma, I'm so happy."

"You made me a proud mom, you know that?"

"You bore me, that's why." He smiles.

They hugged each other. His mother had tears rolling down her face.

"I'm so proud of you son."

He doesn't say a word. He continues hugging his mom.

"You finna make your mom happy today."

"Thank you mama."

"No problem, now get ready to go to your graduation."

He nods, and goes to the bathroom to make sure he looks right for his graduation.

Meanwhile...

Ella Mai is in the bathroom, looking in the mirror. She wore black dress and black heels. Her hair falls down her back. She puts on lip gloss, and fixes her hair. When she was done, she came out the bathroom, and grabbed her purse. Her mom waits in the living room. When she sees her, she greeted her with a hug.

"Oh I'm so proud of you." Her mom said.

"Thank you so much mama." She smiles.

"You ready to graduate?"

"I really am." Ella Mai smiles.

Her mom smiles back. They gathered their things, and went to the car.

Khalid and his mom pulls up at the memorial stadium. There were a lot of people there. There were so many graduates, and proud parents and family members there. Khalid went searching for his friends. They were all linked up by the park. He spots them and head that way. All of them were sitting on the bench. They were all dressed up. Ella Mai looks up, and ran to Khalid.

"OMG You're hereee!"

"Yes, I'm so happy for real."

They hugged for a while. Jorja, Gabi and Alessia walks to them.

"Awwww y'all are so cute." Gabi says.

Ella Mai and Khalid smiles.

"Are y'all excited to graduate?" Alessia asked.

"We're so ready!" Ella Mai answers.

"Agreed."

He looks where Jaden and Amandla sat. He walks over to hug them.

"Wassup bro." Jaden says.

"Man, I'm ready to get this show started."

"Me too bro."

"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go inside." Amandla says.

They nodded, and headed towards the building.

All the graduates put on their cap and gown, and got in formation. They were in alphabetical order.

When it was time to start walking, they all got quiet. Khalid was nervous and excited at the same time. He couldn't believe he was graduating.

Everyone started walking. He could hear thousands of people outside cheering. Excitement brushes through his skin. He makes his way out the hall. As he walks out, the crowd got even louder. He looks up, and saw his family in a section. He started smiling.
