Phil wouldn't let his hopes get high. He couldn't do this to Zoey, his sister. Not after everything Zoella and her mother had done for him. 
                          He had to let go of Dan.

his mind interjected and he felt the familiar throbbing sensation in his chest and he took in deep breaths to try to get the pain to go away.
