"So?" Zoey said, barging into Phil's room without knocking.
"Holy shit Zoe. You almost gave me a heart attack." Phil replied, putting down the book he was reading. Yes he was re-reading The Fault In Our Stars. He was purposely torturing himself more by giving himself another extra large dose of heartbreak, chest aches and tears.
"Yeah yeah," she said in a bored voice, and rolled her eyes. "Now tell me. How was the date?" She continued, wiggling her eyebrows in a suggestive manner for more effect.
"Why would you set me up on a date with someone who wasn't going to come Zoey? And the funny part is that, Dan was there and he gave me company- oh."
"Please don't tell me that you're that dumb." Zoey said with a mortified expression on her face.
Phil's lack of response answered Zoey's question.
"Jesus Christ, Phillip Lester." She scolded, putting her palm on her forehead.
" Your current mood, the book you're reading, your lack of conversation and enthusiasm tell me only one thing and I really really hope I'm wrong. Please tell me I'm wrong."
"It's not fair to you Zoey. I would never do that to you. Dan agrees with me. We decided not to-"
"Owwwww owwwww! Zoey leave my ear alone. Ahh shit it hurts. I'm sorry I'm sorry please, your nail is digging into my poor skin."
"Phil, why do you think Alfie and I set you both up? Do you really think that I would want anything to come between my brother's happiness? Especially if that 'anything' is me?
"Zo-"
"No seriously shut up Phil, or I'll sew your mouth shut. I'm so angry at you right now. Yes, Dan hurt me. But it's only because of Dan, that I'm with Alfie now. And what he said makes sense to me now. We're better off as friends. Alfie makes me soooo fucking happy Phil. And Dan was the one who told Alfie that he was completely fine with Alfie and me being together, he encouraged it even. With Alfie, it's like, all my feelings are multiplied. When he looks at me, I swear my stomach feels like it's on fire, and oh god my heart. It goes haywire. I can't control it. It's sounds scary but it's so right Phil. Alfie, he's right for me. And I'll never regret anything with Dan because of this very reason. Okay I'm straying away from the topic, but what I'm trying to say is, I have to thank Dan for Alfie, and I want Dan and Phil to happen. I want 'Phan' to happen."
"You want what to happen?"
"Phan. It's your ship name. Phil plus Dan equals Phan. Okay stop distracting me and let me finish what I have to say. I can't say I'm surprised. I've seen the way Dan looks at you and I used to be really jealous of you Phil, because I wanted Dan to look at me that way. But he never did. I tried to make myself believe that there was nothing going on and I think that's why I actually got hurt; I wasn't ready to accept it. I remember the first time I spoke to Dan. Ironically it was about you. He asked me if you were alright and why you weren't replying to his messages. It was when your Dad came to visit. I remember thinking that I wanted someone to be this worried about me. I wanted someone to care that much. I've seen the way you look at him Phil. It's the exact same way Dan looks at you." She breathed in deeply and continued,
"Today is your three month anniversary Phil. It's been three months since you messaged him. And three months since he replied. I know three months isn't a very long time, but love isn't about how long you've known each other. No, love is when you know it's love. You'll feel it every single second of the day. And if you're wondering how I know that it's your anniversary, I remember Dan mentioning the date you guys started talking and I kind of calculated it. That's the reason I planned this."
Phil was quite during Zoella's entire speech. He was letting her words soak in. It was their three month anniversary and he ruined it. He ruined it even before it started.
"Zoe what do I-"
"PUT ON A PANT, TAKE YOUR KEYS AND GO GO GO!"
Phil felt like he was in a really sappy romantic movie in which he was the hero. He laughed at how cliché everything was becoming. After starting the car, he made a quick detour before going to Dan's house and found the item he was searching for.
He was glad that there wasn't much traffic and he could drive fast. He parked the car two blocks away and started walking towards Dan's house.
"Let me have Dan, please let me have Dan." He crossed his fingers.
