"No! Let me go Luke!" Her shrill voice echoed in the alley.

She backed into the wall as I stepped closer, not quite out of the shadows.

She whimpered and I smiled. She was mine.

"Luke, please. You promised to stay away. I don't want you anymore. Please leave me alone." She closed her eyes, willing me away. Hoping I was just a nightmare.

I got close to her so she could feel my breath on her cheek. She visually shuddered and a laugh rumbled in my throat. I kissed her neck and she screamed.

Her scream was cut off quickly for my hand snaked out and struck her cheek. Her fair skin reddened and she began to whimper once more.

"Luke please..." She cried. I pulled back enough to stare deep into her eyes. I realized then that her fear was a facade. She was trying to draw attention to us making herself the victim to make Lucian look like the bad guy. She truly is rotten.

Her face is angelic even with my mark on her cheek. Glossy auburn hair, emerald eyes, and porcelain skin, but no amount of beauty could hide the Darkness in those cold, hard, green eyes of hers. She was the ideal weapon.

"Oh cut the crap Viviana." I said to her in a serious tone.

"What do you mean Luke?" Her faked innocence made me scoff.

"That will be the last time you call me by that name. Lucian is a weak man and I will not take that insult." She looked confused so I backed away from her. Squaring my shoulders and drawing in the night, I knew I looked like the King of Darkness. Well, that's exactly who I was, soon everyone would know and everyone would bow to me.

"My name is Adrian. I am not my brother and you will not address me as such."

Her brows furrowed and she cocked her head to the side. Slowly pulling away from the wall she approached me. I let her soft hand touch my face. She studied me for a moment. Suddenly a smile stretched across her lips.

"Yes, you are different. How can this be? I didn't realize Luke had another brother," she said practically devouring me with her gaze.

"Neither did he." I laughed. But I cut it short and quickly grabbed her hand. I pulled her close to my chest.

"You will serve me as my queen Viviana."

"Why me?" She said as her breath caught in her throat.

"Darkness demands it so. You will be mine.

"And if I decline?" She said smugly.

"You will die. Here and now. " I said with my hand wrapping around her throat. I put a little pressure and stared into her eyes to intimidate her.

She surprised me then. She laughed and a smirk perched upon her lips. "Relax. I'd be happy to oblige, under one condition."

I raised a brow at her sudden change in demeanor.

'She is a powerful ally Adrian. My hand is over her. Do as she asks.' Darkness commanded me.

"Go on." I said warily.

"We kill the Royal family. I want to rule my way and I want to be the one to kill Luke." A shadow crossed her face and her eyes narrowed.

"Fine. This kingdom is nothing to me, but killing Lucian is my task, not yours."

"Then we don't have a deal. Sorry." She shrugged her shoulders.

I took a deep breath and did my best not to rip her throat out. I wanted her so I would have to control myself.

"How about we compromise? When it's time, I will take Lucian alive. You can toy with him all you want, but it is I who must give the final blow. Deal?"

"Hmm...I don't know."

My eyes turned and I angrily tightened my grip around her throat. She gasped and purpled instantly.

"Do not test me bitch. Take it or leave it."

"Fine." She gasped out. I loosened my grip so she could breathe, but I kept my hand around her perfect skin. She would bruise and I liked it. It aroused the sadist in me and I couldn't help but stare at her lips.

She noticed for her plump lips were suddenly on mine. We had a deal and she would be my Queen. Our kiss turned passionate and I growled when she bit my lip. I hoisted her onto my hips and she gracefully wrapped her legs around me. I gave into my dark side then and made her my Queen.

*************

"You know, you could help me Luke." Dale said in frustration.

"Now why would I do that?" I laughed at his pathetic attempt to pitch my tent.

"Well it is yours for one. Besides I'm not the one who is trained to do this sort of thing. Warriors sleep under the stars, hidden, or not at all."

"Well isn't that unfortunate. It's not my fault you elite warriors haven't been trained to do something so simple. " I said teasing him.

"My people rather train us to be fighters than squatters. There's no time for this kind of nonsense." He went on the defensive.

"Alright, alright. Calm down Dale. I'm just teasing you." I laughed and shook my head. I finally gave him a hand with my tent.

We traveled all night to Rolon. The sun would soon rise and we decided to stop 3 miles outside of the city by a small village. We were not stopped by any Rolonians but surely we would be recognized if we stopped in the city.

The plan was to rest until about noon. Then Dale, David, and I would attempt to see King David. Hopefully it will not turn violent but there was a large possibility that it would.

After Dale and I finished. We joined the others around a fire David had started. Alec had finished skinning some game we caught earlier and now James was cooking it. We were all very hungry and food couldn't come soon enough.

The soldiers laughed as they talked over our meal. Dale and I were the only ones quiet.

My mind was on convergence as I could imagine so was Dale's. Time was ticking and every moment counted. Just a couple weeks ago, I never imagined my existence would be so important. After all of this my life would never be the same.

I just hoped I'd stay alive long enough to see another day.

"What's wrong son? You've barely touched your food." David said as he took a seat next to me.

"I suppose I'm worried for the safety of our men and of our kingdom."

"I think we all are." He said with a sigh.

"You don't understand. This war could be catastrophic for us and possibly the world as we know it." It's true. If war were to occur, Darkness would gain a lot more power and have a stronger foothold in the world.

"I think you're exaggerating a little. Besides, our army may be smaller but we are certainly mightier."

I decided not to argue with him. He does not know about the spiritual war that will be happening.

Instead I smiled at him. "You're right uncle. We'll see what happens. One battle at a time."

"Right then. We ought to get some rest." He stood and pat my shoulder. "Goodnight son."

"Good night uncle."

I gave the rest of my food to Alec. I couldn't stomach another bite.

I retired to my tent then and got as comfortable as I could. My thoughts were haunting me keeping me up, but I had to keep trying. It wouldn't be long until we had to march to the city to meet Daniel.

The sun was just beginning to poke out of the horizon when sleep finally came over me.
