Allison's POV
I locked myself on my room. I'm angry at myself and also Riley. Why does this need to happen? What's wrong?
"Are you crying dear?" Mom asked, knocking on my door.
"No" I replied, wiping the tears on my face.
"I know you're crying. Open the door. Please"
I opened it, hearing the creaking sound of my wooden door.
"Now. Tell me what's the problem?" Mom asked. Sitting beside me.
"Its.. Riley, h-he broke up with me" I muttered
"I know" Mom bowed her head, a tear dropped from her eyes. As she was crying.
"What? You knew? but how?"
"Riley's mom told me. But you still have Connor"
"I don't understand... Why? What about Connor?" Should I ask mom something about Connor? The marriage thingy? "Mom? What do you mean about I STILL HAVE CONNOR?"
"An arrange marriage was planned between you and Connor" *Sigh*
"Do you ever just asked me if I wanna marry Connor?!"
"Me and your father taught that it was okay for you to marry him. Because you two were very close when you were young"
"I don't understand"
"Your father borrowed some money from Connor's father. Your father needed the money for you to continue your studies. Connor's father is the reason why you had finished your studies"
"So.. Your point is?"
"Connor liked you very much, so we agreed to their condition. You have to marry him because of all the debts we had from his father. I'm sorry hon.. Forgive us" Tears were rushing through her face.
"Mom.. I don't need to marry him right? We just need to pay them"
"We can't. The money is not enough. Everything is planned" Mom said. Sobbing.
*Ding Dong* Mom wiped off her tears and went to get the door
"Connor, I wasn't expecting you"
"I know. I'm here to surprise Allison. I brought her some chips" He said. Showing mom the chips he brought.
I hid myself at the stairs while I listen to their conversations.
"I'll just call her then" Mom said
*Ehem* "No need, mom" I said, looking at Connor
"Allison. Uhm.. Would you like to.. have a dinner with me?" He said, Fixing his suit and untying his tie.
I looked at mom, who was smiling at me. "Okay" I said
"Yes. Well, you should go get ready. I want to see you beautiful in a dress"
I faked a smile, hiding the sadness I feel.
Sapphire helped me fix myself. I twirled around with my blue cocktailed dress. Sapphire smiled at me, giving me more strength behind the sorrows I suffer.
We both went down to meet Connor, he was already in his fancy suit, and opening the door for me. I directly went to him.
"Smile" Sapphire mouthed, placing both of her fingers on her cheeks, that made me smile.
"I told you that you'll be beautiful in a dress" Connor started,
"Yeah. So.. what's all of this for?"
"What?" He said, being confused
"The dinner?"
"Oh. We're getting married, remember? So that means I should take you out on a date"
"So.. You already knew what happened between me and Riley?"
"Yup. Riley's a jerk for letting you go. But I'll promise you, I'll NEVER let you go"
That sounded creepy for me. The way he says, I'LL NEVER LET YOU GO, made me gulped.
He opened the door, as we got there. It was a fancy place though. I bet people with great amount of money goes here to eat. Chandeliers were hanging from above.
"This is too much. We should have ate on a fastfood or pizza" I looked at him.
"I wanted a romantic place"
Connor ordered sea foods, which were very expensive. While he talks about the things he done at Ohio.
"It's getting late, we should go home" I said, breaking the awkwardness between us.
