"Yes. And this is my brother Vincent and my mom, St-" Mrs. McDonough cutted me off.
"Stephanie Tyler!" As Mrs. McDonough gave mom a hug.
Wait. They know eachother?!
"Joan McDonough?!" My mom spoke back.
"Come in. Come in" As Mrs. McDonough let us inside the living room.
"Sit down. Oh my.. Is this Sapphire? Toby's girlfriend? am I righ?" Mrs. McDonough pointed at Sapphire.
"Why Yes" Mom nodded.
"Why didn't I notice that Allison's surname is the same as yours. I didn't recognize that this young lady is Allison, last thing I remembered... She was little" Mrs. McDonough smiled at me.
"Yes. I know" Mom answered back.
Is there something I need to know? Why do they know each other?
"Is this Vincent?! He's all grown up. I bet his girlfriend is pretty. Isn't?"
Mom chuckled. "Actually. He doesn't have a girlfriend yet"
"Awww.... Vincent, do you still remember when you were little, you and Connor would always play toy cars and airplanes. You two were used to be bestfriends." My eyes were wide and surprised from what mrs. McDonough said.
Vincent and Connor? Bestfriends?
"Used to" Vincent replied.
Wait. Wut? Vincent knows Connor and he wont even tell me.
"Oh. Allison and Connor were bestfriends too when they were twelve. *Sigh. Good times" As mrs McDonough handed out a picture of me and Connor when we were young.
I looked at the picture. Well, me and Connor were good friends that days. Good old days.
"Mom! Are they here already??!" I heard Riley's voice from upstairs.
"Yes. You can come down now"
Riley came downstairs with Toby. My world became slomo, Riley's black suit looks hot on him.
"Hey there beautiful" Riley held my hand, leading me to the dining table and helping me sit down.
Awww... So sweet.
As Toby did the same to Sapphire. This two boys are just too sweet.
"Care for a roasted beef? Soup? Salad?" As Riley pointed out the dishes on the table. Damn, They were all delicious.
"Uhm. let me see here.... All!" I spoke out.
"Okay then" Riley served me the dishes and placing them in front of me.
"I wish Connor was here" Mrs. McDonough gently sliced the cake beside her.
Riley didn't response her, instead he nodded.
"I'm stuffed" As Toby rubbed his tummy with food in his mouth.
"Don't speak when your mouth is full, remember?" Sapphire served Toby a glass of water, for him to drink.
"How sweet... Tobias!" Riley teased Toby, at the corner of my eye, I had saw that Riley slowly putting his right arm around me.
Vincent was staring at us. What's his problem? Well, it's not our fault if he doesn't have a girlfriend yet. He's not really good at girls, let's just say... Girls disliked him because of his strictness.
"Let's continue our chit chat at the living room. Shall we?" Mrs. McDonough led us at the living room.
Anyways, I really wanna know why mom knows mrs. mcdonough.
"Uhm.. Mrs. McDonough?" I spoke, catching her attention.
"Call me aunt Joan"
"Oh. Aunt Joan? why do you know mom? Are you friends?"
"Yes, we're friends. Well, We used to be your neighbors... You were so little that time, I think you were just 3 years old and Vincent was 6 years old. As for Sapphire, your mother was pregnant back then"
"Really?!" Riley and Toby was also surprised.
"It's true. I remembered that Connor would always knock on our door waiting for Vincent and Allison to come out. Isn't Vincent?" Mom said, Looking at Vincent.
Vincent just nodded, it looks like that he doesn't want to talk about it.
At the middle of our discussion, Toby and Sapphire excused their selves and went at the backyard. And Riley went to his room to remove his suit.
Mom and aunt Joan was talking about some adult stuff. Until I mentioned my name from aunt Joan's mouth.
I was pretending that I wasn't listening.
"Just on my opinion, Allison and Riley are not for each other" Aunt Joan lowered her voice, but I still heard it and mom nodded, showing that she agrees.
Wut? We're not for each other?
"Steph, Do you still remember what we talked about? Connor and Allison is going to be married some day" Aunt Joan said.
"I still remember that" Mom also responded with a whisper
"We already planned this? right?"
"Yes. I know"
"I planned a better future for Riley, He's going to marry someone else. Like what I said, I don't trust other girls except for Allison. That's why Connor and Allison are perfect for each other, While Riley is going to marry my friends daughter"
"But how are we going to break them up"
"I don't know"
I didn't notice that my tears were falling. There are many questions running in my mind. Why would I marry Connor?
