The next morning, Jeanne Alter woke up alongside the other two servants.

"I wonder what Mr. Fussypants is up to?" She said in reference to Augustus.

She walked out of her room and discovered that her the door to her master's room was slightly ajar.

She peeked inside and found it empty.

"Looks like he left for some reason." She said until she felt Okita Alter bump into her from behind.

"Watch it, would you?" She asked.

"Where is he?" Okita Alter said.

"No clue. Wait, what is that on the table?" Jeanne Alter said as she walked up to the table.

There was a visible cracked depression on it, with some minor bloodstains. Similarly bloodied knuckle prints were found on the wall.

"Wonder what he hit so hard as to draw blood." Jeanne said.

"Oh no..." Okita Alter stated before dashing out of the room and down the hallway.

The Berserker and Assassin followed after the tan-skinned servant, seeing that she had ran towards the infirmary.

There, they found their master being tended to by a nurse.

"Master!" Okita Alter said as she quickly ran to Augustus' side.

"Mh..." Augustus mumbled in response.

"I'm worried! You didn't leave your room for hours, and now I discover that you've been harming yourself! Tell me what's going on." Okita Alter said as she sat next to him.

"...Sorry. It's just that... I felt like shit for not restraining myself and having to show you a side of me I never wanted to show." The magus replied.

"It's okay." She said to him as she took his bandaged hand and rested it against her cheek, "Just remember that I am here. I'll be by your side."

"Even when this command spell I have could drive me insane?" He asked.

"No matter what. But I want you to trust me like I trust you." Okita Alter said as she gently held his hand on her cheek while rubbing the back of it in a reassuring manner.

"Alright, that's all the stitches and bandages. Try to take better care of yourself." The nurse said as she finished wrapping the bandages on Augustus' forehead.

With that, Augustus headed to the cafeteria to get some food. The servants followed close behind.

While eating, Hassan noticed how the black veins were not present on Augustus' arm.

There was also another thing he noticed, though.

Jeanne was looking at Augustus with a guilty look.

Augustus seemed to notice this, as he had looked at the swimsuit-clad berserker in a neutral way.

After finishing their meals, the posse heads back to their establishment. Once there, Augustus sat down on the couch.

Okita Alter stayed close to him, eventually falling asleep while resting against his shoulder.

"She really has a thing for you, huh?" Jeanne Alter said as she sat down the other side of Augustus.

"So it seems." He stated flatly.

"...Sorry about being rude." Jeanne Alter said, frusrtated by her embarrasment.

"Hm?" Augustus reacted, "Yeah, it's fine. And I should have restrained myself better. You probably didn't mean to anger me in any real way."

"Well... no. I might make fun of you, but I don't mean to insult you. My non-summer self would certainly be more hostile." The Berserker said, "I just want to prove my superiority over that overly happy archer version of myself. I bet I'm much more interesting than her!"

"Well, a christian woman in a swimsuit is still just a christian. Happy-go-lucky and optimistic, but that's it. Pretty dull since their biggest treasure ain't love. It's just God's love they want." Augustus said, "I don't get it myself. Just blind faith to a benevolent force that may or may not be real."

"I know, right?" Jeanne Alter said, "She just sits around being the center of attention and just prays for God's good graces while I even made plans for a summer vacation!"

"Huh, didn't think you were into that sort of stuff." Augustus said.

"I picked up a few hobbies." She said smugly, "I even started studying German."

"Cool." Augustus said, "Used to study French myself, but it wasn't for me."

"Aren't you full of surprises, master?" She said with a small chuckle.

"I have my moments." He replied.

After a little while of chatting, the mood settled down, the three taking a small nap.

After waking up, Augustus thought of something to do that would helpt the team bond. And after some brainstorming, he had thought of something.

"Hey, Jeanne?" He asked.

"Hm?" She asked.

"Maybe we could get a transfer to some other base in a more exotic location?" He asked, "I for one think Chaldea is a bit bleak and bonding is a little difficult due to how dull these quarters are. Okita here is kind of a special case."

Jeanne's mouth curled into a smug grin upon hearing this.

She ran to her room, from where she returned with a map that had various markings.

"And if we ever go on a vacation there, I have a plan!" She said smugly.

Jeanne then started going on about the vacation plan she had devised, surpring her master with its meticulous design.

"So, what do you think? Isn't it better than most paltry summer trips?" Jeanne asked.

"If we could pull this off, it would probably be a once-in-a-lifetime experience." He commented, "I'll take it into consideration, and maybe once we have the time and resources, we could do this. But firstly, I believe this motley crew could use a change in scenery."

"Wonderful. Just let me know when we'll go on this trip." She said.

"Yeah. Good to see you lower your guard once." Augustus said.

"...Just don't start spreading rumors about me having a soft side. Those idiots who hounded after me will come back and I'd rather not bother with that stupidity again."

"Good thing my command spell also has a 'Contract Breaker' enchantment." Augustus said, "While  you were first contracted to one of those twerps, I stole the contract."

"Aren't you a depraved one, stealing contracts for your own means." Jeanne said witha chuckle, "I bet you'd burn the world if you wanted to, having the power to steal contracts."

"I have morals, but unlike some, I don't do this for the glory of being a hero." Augustus replied, "I'm willing to hurt and kill people if needed. And if it was necessary, I'd burn this planet. But for now, I just want to be a good master."

"Hm. I suppose that's fine." Jeanne said as she recomposed herself.

'How did I let myself slip like that?' She thought, 'He might get the wrong idea and start getting all chummy with me...'

Okita Alter then woke up.

"Hm? How long have I been sleeping, master?" Okita Alter asked.

"For some time. Say, what would you think of a change in scenery?" Augustus replied.

"...I suppose it could be nice." Okita said.

"Alright, I think that settles it. I'll look into if we could move to another Chaldea Security Organization base to change things up." Augustus said.

"Looking forward to it." Jeanne said, "Let's see if I get to show how crappy that swimsuit-wearing worthless saint is compared to me."
