Scattered Letters

Letters bounce around in my head

trying to find the perfect words to say to you,

and to myself in consolation and wonder.

The words I can use don't say enough,

an understatement to who you are

and what you've accomplished.

But I've come to the conclusion

that there are no words good enough and

I'm not lucky enough to show you.

So I sit in silence and defeat,

A blank room filled with nothing but

my body and scattered letters.
