All week long I watch the teachers very closely. They're all knowledgeable and are very good actors, but since I knew what to look for I could catch their mistakes.
None of the teachers have any books on their desks. I caught Mrs. Fenley, my fanfic teacher, by surprise when I asked her what book she was currently reading, and she couldn't give me an answer.
And Ruthe was right- the teachers aren't fanpeople. For example, Mr. Kilmer- the teacher of the Coping with Feels class- doesn't have the feels.
And Miss Bright, who teaches the Fangirl Language class, never uses the fangirl language.
I also kept my eyes peeled yesterday when I was at the mall shopping for fandom merchandise. I didn't see any teachers.
Nor did I see any teachers in the park, in the Central Library, in the bookstore, or in my new favorite restaurant, Second Breakfast (which is LOTR/Hobbit themed).
And no matter how hard I study the map of Fan Isle, I cannot find any place the teachers could possibly be staying. Unless they're staying in the student dorms. But I highly doubt that.
So the teachers aren't staying on fan Isle, as far as I'm concerned.
The question is: where are they staying? And why are they staying somewhere else?
Ruthe's story about her friend Miles continues to haunt me as well.
I try to convince myself that it's all just a misunderstanding, but I have a strong feeling in my gut that something's not all fun and fangirling in this place.
