Song for this chapter:
Marry You - Bruno Mars
Anne-Marie's POV:
I was so nervous. Greg called me five minutes ago to ask me if I could meet up with him at that fancy Italian restaurant a few blocks away from here. He said that I should bring the girls and dress nicely. I was so nervous. Was he going to break up with me in front of everyone. We'd been together for about a year now, although I didn't want Alyssa to know until later because I didn't want her to freak out about it. Tori told me about the situation with her father. I guess I'll have to tell the girls to find something decent to wear in the closet.
I called Alyssa at work. After five rings, she finally picked up.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Alyssa, sweetheart, do you have a nice evening gown in your closet?" I asked hopefully. I don't want her to spend all her money on an evening gown for just one night.
"Um, I'm not sure- Danny! Get your ass off the counter and serve that lady over there, goddammit!"
I jumped at her sudden outburst.
"Sorry mom. I'm training this new employee and he's being stupid. Yeah, as I was saying. No, I don't think I have a formal gown apart from my prom dress. Why'd you ask?" She said.
"Greg invited us for dinner at Caesar's tonight and it's a really fancy place. Yeah, don't wear your prom dress okay? When you get off your shift, can you go and find something?"
"Yes ma'am. Okay, I'm gonna have to go now, mom. Danny jammed his hand in the cash register again." She chuckled.
"Okay, see you later sweetie." I said. Before I hung up, I heard Alyssa yell: "Danny, next time you jam your hand in there, I'm cutting your fingers off with the cash register keys!"
I chuckled and hung up. I love my daughter.
Alyssa's POV:
I finally got off my shift and I changed back into my normal clothes. I'm going to have to make this shopping trip really quick, because I do not want to be here when they start the Patriotic March. I wandered into the most classy stores first, found dresses that I liked, saw the price and made a quick dash out of there. Some of those dresses are probably more expensive than my internal organs on the Black Market. I gave up on classy and walked into Nelly. After wandering around and finding nothing that really tickled my fancy, I laid my eyes on a really cute dark blue keyhole dress. I grabbed and rushed into a changing room. Thank goodness it fitted me. I'd been inseparable from McDonald's lately.
I quickly paid for it and rushed home. As I said, I didn't want to be here for the march. I got home an hour later than I should because of traffic. When I finally got in, I was greeted by Tori, crossing her arms and tapping her foot impatiently.
"Alyssa Maria Montoya Alejandra Guadalupe Ivanna Felicia Vantez, what time do you call this? Your mother has been worried sick! And you still need to help me choose a dress for tonight, young lady." She scolded.
"Okay, grandma, I'm coming." I laughed and rolled my eyes.
I went with Tori upstairs and we searched for the Perfect outfit for Tori. In the end we decided on a light pink Emilio Pucci with a white collar, black and flowery leggings, a silver chain necklace, jimmy choo toe pumps, Vivienne Westwood clutch bag. I did Tori"s hair in a neat fishtail braid, then did her make-up which consisted of some lip gloss, eyeliner, dark eyeshadow and some pink blusher. http://www.polyvore.com/m/set?.embedder=10994055&.svc=copypaste&id=130063558
After I dealed with Tori I sorted myself out. I'm in love this keyhole dress. I painted my nails dark blue to match my dress, applied navy blue eyeliner, curled my hair and put on some saint Lauren gloss. The finishing touches were my Greek goddess headband, my Gianvito Risso pointed pumps and a navy blue clutchbag. Tori looked so amazing In her outfit and I must say I don't look too bad myself. After a quick selfie we had to get going as it was 8:30 and we were meant to meet up at the restaurant by 9:00 and so we got in my car. It took about 20 minutes to get to the restaurant meaning we had 10 minutes to spare and I didn't see my mom anywhere. We had a quick jamming session to Real Girls Eat Cake to pass time and I finally saw my mom arriving. She looked utterly stunning and much younger for a 41 year old. She wore; a black fishtail gown, black pumps, diamanté stretch bracelet and a sterling silver infinity necklace. Her make-up was dark to match her outfit and her shoulder length hair straightened.
"Mama!, vous etes belle!!"
"Merci, vous Aussi mon petit cheri"
We would've gone into a full on French conversation until Tori interrupted stating that she can't speak French and we just laughed how she can't understand. We walked up to the entrance of the restaurant which was breathtaking. Why would Greg arrange to meet at such a fancy place like this?! What's so important, to be honest? It was a mix of vintage and modern decor not too tacky and welcoming at the same time. Boy did this place look expensive..... We made our way inside and we got directed to our table where Greg was waiting smiling when he set eyes on my mom. Greg is such a gentleman and so polite as always, pulled the chair out for my mom and gave her the warmest hug and kiss. The waiter came over and took our orders for the starter. I snacked on breadsticks and talked with Tori whilst waiting for our orders. Damn was I hungry..... Suddenly Greg stood up and tapped on his glass getting the attention of the whole restaurant. He started off by saying "throughout the past year I have been so thankful to have this woman in my life as my girlfriend partner and friend and I sort of want her to be more than my girlfriend.... Anne-Marie, will you marry me?" he started getting down on one knee OMG!! so this is why we had To go this fancy restaurant. My moms face was just lit up with joy and she looked so happy "YES, OF COURSE I WILL MARRY YOU" and the whole restaurant cheered and clapped . Luckily Tori videoed the whole thing and I got a snap of Greg on one knee and my mom smiling which was probably the best photo ever in HD. GOD BLESS APPLE!!! I haven't seen my mom so happy ever since my dad left so Greg fills in that empty place and has made my mom so much happier. Unlike that piece of dirt called my dad.... Mmmm... I like the sound of Maid of Honour....
