Alyssa's POV:

We finally landed in Massachussets after a five hour journey that was spent by watching Disney films. We all went straight through to Baggage Claim. We stood there patiently, just waiting for our luggage. Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours. Still no luggage. My mom looked down at her watch. "For God's sakes, this is ridiculous. It doesn't take two hours to get some damn luggage!" My mom yelled. She stood up from the seat she had found after an hour of waiting and stomped over to the information desk. All I could see was Mom yelling at the poor lady, probably in French and waving her hands like an idiot. It was another five minutes before she came stomping back over to Tori and I.

"Maman, qu'est-ce qui se passe?" I asked. (Mom, what's going on?)

"La gardienne a dit que nos bagages est probablement sur le mauvais avion ou s'est perdu lors de l'embarquement." She huffed. (The attendant said that our luggage is probably on the wrong plane or got lost while boarding).

"Mais maman! Nous pourrions être ici pendant des heures!" I cried, with a whiny tone. (But mom! We could be here for hours!)

"Vous ne pensez pas que je sais que?! Maintenant arrêté de pleurnicher et de m'aider à chercher nos sacs!" She snapped. (Don't you think I know that?! Now quit whining and help me look for our bags!)

I knew better than to answer back. My mom and I trudged around the other baggage claim stations in silence, without Tori, since she had fallen asleep. After about half an hour of not finding anything, I saw a familiar Louis Vuitton case peeking out from the curtain at the fifth baggage claim station. "Maman, regarde! C'est mon sac! C'est là-bas!" (Mom, look! It's my bag! It's over there!) I screamed at the top of my voice, pointing towards my darling suitcase.

"Oh, thank God!" My mom sighed. I ran over to my suitcase and hauled it from the conveyor belt. Mom came over and took her and Tori's bags.

We dragged our suitcases back to where Tori had finally woken up and hailed a cab to take us to our hotel.

We arrived at the Ames Boston Hotel about an hour and a half later. My mom booked in with the hotel and we went straight to our rooms. Tori and I were sharing a room and Mom thought it would be a good idea to get one all to herself. Selfish.

When Tori and I got to our rooms, we noticed that there was only one double bed in the entire room. I didn't mind sharing a bed with my best friend, but I did mind when she hadn't said anything since the flight. I shuffled my feet towards the bed and kicked my shoes off.

Tori's POV:

Ohhhhh man. This was bad. This was really really bad. I've never told anyone about Ryder execpt Alyssa and her mom. I trust them more than I trust my parents. Alyssa's probably getting suspicious now, since I haven't said a word since I got that text. I can't imagine what Ryder would do to me if he found me. Ryder and I were together for about a year and when my parents kicked me out of the house, I moved in with him. It was all great at the beginning, but then, he would come home later and later at night. And with the landlord constantly pounding on the door and threatening to kick us out, I got so scared.

*FLASHBACK*

I checked the time on my alarm clock again for about the fifth time. 4:09am. Ryder was supposed to be home four hours ago. I sighed again and tried to get back to sleep without thinking about him. Yeah, sure, he could be a real monster sometimes, but I still missed him like crazy. About twenty minutes later, I heard a key in the lock turn. At least he didn't break down the door again, I thought. I heard him stumble through the door. "TORI!" he screeched. "Where are you, you good-for-nothing tramp?" Glass shattered on the floor. "Dammit." he mumbled. I heard his heavy boots trudge up the stairs and I knew immediately that he was coming to the room where I was. He kicked open the door and I saw him holding another bottle in his hand.
