Scott reloaded his handgun before putting it in his belt, as he followed the others. They charged through the halls, racing to try and get to the others in time. He just hoped that Zoe was ok and Jake to, he didn't want to have to return to Jacks and tell him his nephew had been infected or worse killed by whatever was attacking them.

Once the door was in slight, Scott tightened his grip on the shotgun Jill had given him. Barging through the set of double doors. The group stood at the top of a large round conference room, filled with multiple tables and different levels for the different leaders. He expected to see the room to be filled to the brim with infected people climbing over each other as they tried to reach, Zoe, Jake and Claire. What he wasn't expecting was the gigantic slug monster sitting in the centre of the room.

It was as tall as the room itself. Its skin had long track marks of stitches that were being used to hold this creature together, similar to how Bolder looked. Long arms littered the top of its body, all sewn together and made grotesque trees sticking out from its skin. All the arms seemed to twitch and move as if they had a mind of their own. At a quick glance, Scott just about counted 25 arms in total but he was sure there were many more.

Large pulsing masses stuck out the sides of its body, they seemed to be breathing as they expanded and contracted, like small living organisms living on the surface of the creature's body. They also glowed ever so slightly.

Its jaw was huge, sharp teeth pointed out of its bottom jaw at an angle. Enormous drops of saliva dripped from its angled teeth. Its eyes were two different sizes but both large and unnatural on its head, both a disturbing orange and red with large black pupils.

At that moment the monster hadn't noticed them, it was too busy using its arms to go out and pick up tables and throw them across the room. Scott watched in horror as the arms also stretched and twisted in odd angles, some even appeared to have eyes in the centre of their hands.

'That has to be the thing that dragged the woman away', Scott realised.

A child's scream caught his attention. Looking down, he spotted two people huddled as far away from the creature as they could. They had to be Zoe and Jake. While a third person was running around the monster, that's when Scott realised it wasn't throwing the tables randomly, it was trying to hit Claire.

"What on earth is she doing", Scott heard Chris mutter.

"Distracting it", Natalie stated.

"Natalie, you're with me, Scott try and get Zoe and Jake to safety", Chris ordered. Nodding his head, Scott turned and ran along the level he was on heading to the closest stairs to Zoe and Jake. More gunshots sounded behind him.

As he neared the top of the stairs, he found the corpse of the woman he had tried to save earlier. Well, half of it. There was only the top half of the woman, laying in a tangled mess of broken limbs and blood. The cracks on the ground seemed to suggest that this thing had smashed the body against the top couple of steps. From the way the corpse was laying it looked like the creature had thrown her away as if he became bored and just tossed her away.

Turning away from the sight, Scott raced down the stairs. Glancing across at the massive monster. It was busy trying to hit the other three on the other side of the room. 'Great', Scott thought as he reached the bottom of the stairs. He charged up to Zoe and Jake. Jake was crying his eyes out as he clung to Scott's sister. While Zoe couldn't take her eyes off the gigantic creature that tried to kill them.

Grabbing her arm, Scott wasted no time by pulling her up off the floor, "Zoe, we need to go now!", he shouted at her, to try and get her out of whatever state she was in. Zoe blinked a couple of time before she turned to look at him. She shook her head, "right", she said as she then looked down at Jake, "take my hand", she told the little boy. The little boy sniffled as he timidly took her hand, he looked ahead of them in fear at the monster in the room.
