Chapter Six.

‘Happy Birthday!’

I opened my eyes and saw the boys and dad standing in front of me with balloons in their hands. My birthday had finally come and it took its damn time. Liam came over and gave me a good morning kiss and then a happy birthday kiss, all the boys complained but I sure didn’t.

Liam and I had decided to take another chance, we thought ‘why not?’ so we are trying it. So far so good.

We all walked to the lounge room and I saw a few presents on the couch.

‘Awh, you didn’t have too’ I smiled

‘Just open them’ Louis said pushing me towards them

I opened the first one from Liam; it was a beautiful Pandora bracelet –since the other one broke when I threw it--. The next one was from Louis; it was the hunger games book. Dad’s present was charms for my bracelet, Harry’s present to me was a massive block of crunchie chocolate. Zayn’s present to me was expensive shampoo and conditioner and Niall’s present was a ticket to the big day out.

‘Big day out is in Australia..’

‘We are going to Australia!’ Niall cheered ‘We all have our own tickets as well and we have booked the flights. We have talked to firebirds and they are letting you miss the first training session, just this once! The next one is the next weekend. We leave in two days and spend three days in Australia’

‘Thank you!’

I couldn’t wait to go to Australia.  I was so excited. I was going to go meet Jaimie for lunch today since it was my birthday.

‘Happy Birthday girl!’ he shouted as he hugged me

‘Hey’

We were at a café, the one we always went to as kids. We met here on my third birthday, 17 years of friendship.

‘I finally told my mum’ he smiled

‘Oh yay!’

A few months ago Jaimie told me he was gay, he was scared to tell his mum though but he finally did and I was so proud of him. We sat at the café for a while just talking when I saw Corbin, I remembered he told me he was gay too. Time to play matchmaker.

‘Hi Corbin, this is Jaimie. Jaimie this is Corbin. I will be back my phone is ringing’ I lied

I pretended I was talking on the phone and then walked over to the boys who were having a good time.

‘I have to go home now; I will see you when I get back. Bye’ I smiled and walked off

I saw Jaimie mouth ‘thank you’ to me as I walked out. Anytime Jaimie, anytime.

I got home and saw a car in the driveway, I recognised it but not sure where from. I got inside and Liam quickly pulled me into another room.

‘There is a guy in the lounge room saying he was your mum’s boyfriend. He wants to talk to you. He just got back from Madagascar, has been there for about a year and a half now and he just found out about your mum’

Darren. I knew I recognised that car. I walked into the lounge room and saw him sitting there. I told dad to leave us alone.

‘What are you doing here?’

‘Cam to ask about your mum’ he said

His brown hair getting grey, his blue eyes fading.

‘Why do you care?’

‘Because she is, well was my girlfriend’

‘No, you broke up before you left. It was a good thing too’

‘We were having a break’

‘So you could go rape other women?’

‘You little –‘he raised his hand and slapped me

Someone was obviously watching because dad ran in and grabbed Darren and Liam pulled me into him.

‘You raped my mother, you caused her to be depressed and she threatened me because of you. I left because of that and she killed herself, it’s your entire fault!’ I screamed as tears rolled down my face

What a lovely birthday this was...

‘She loved me, she didn’t love you! She couldn’t wait to get rid of you’ he said

‘It’s time for you to leave’ dad said

Dad finally got him out of the house and I sat on the couch cuddled up to Liam crying, my past which I had tried desperately to forget about had just come and literally slapped me in the face. 

I walked up to my room and shut my door, that’s when I saw Darren. He put his hand over my mouth.

‘Don’t scream, or you die’ he said and I nodded

He put a chair against the door so no one could get in.

‘Now, you play along with it and you won’t die. You scream or cry or make any noise, you will die, kapeesh?’

I just nodded.

Once he was ‘done’ with me, he left through the window and left me there lying naked on the bed. I quickly got up and got dressed and walked into the lounge room.

‘Have a nice sleep?’ Liam asked

I wish.

‘Yeah’

I felt dirty, disgusting, and horrible. I knew I couldn’t say anything otherwise I would die. Now I know how my mother felt. It was my birthday and I had just been raped. Great birthday, I didn’t feel like going to Australia. I didn’t feel like doing anything.

‘I am going for a shower’ I said as I got up and walked to the bathroom

 I locked the door, turned on the shower then searched through the draws for something. Found it, scissors. I put the blade on my wrist and let the cool metal glide across the skin, I didn’t want to do this. I didn’t want to live knowing that it has happened to me, I will end up like my mum.

I jumped in the shower and washed the blood off my wrist, I made sure to always wear a jumper to hide it. I got out of the shower and walked to my room, I knew in a couple of days I would have to take a pregnancy test.

A/N: This ISNT the last chapter. Ten will be. Sorry it isnt really long but meh. Um i broke the rule of not updating til after netball haha, but i deffinately cant because i have to get up and get ready. It's 12:30 and i havent got out of bed yet, oops.
