The Witch & The Werewolf
Ch.15
[Deccan]
Deccan watched through the small window, with some emotion he didn't understand lodged in his throat, as they interacted. It was an odd gathering, to his knowledge Were's hated Witches, but apparently his knowledge about it was wrong. The Were Queen seemed almost at home in the room with three other Witches and that he didn't understand. If they were such a threat to her kinds lives why would she be here? Why would she be smiling and laughing with them when she should be fighting them?
To say he'd been shocked when the Were king showed up at his door step was an understatement. He made it his mission to stay as far away from any other supernatural creatures as he could. Obviously it hadn't really worked but right now that wasn't his worry. Faeries were naturally solitary creatures and on a good day he would have been able to cloak his home from the King, but that hadn't been a good day. At first he'd hid, tried to cloak his scent but the King had refused to leave. When he'd been offered a place in the Kingdom he'd laughed in his face, but the King had made him change his mind.
He'd heard the rumors that the King would do anything to solidify the Witches surrender but he never imagined he'd be willing to kill his own family in the process. It just wasn't heard of, once a Were mated nothing else mattered but their mate's safety, but the King had only shrugged and told Deccan to make it look like and accident. He'd said that if his wife got in the way of what he'd ordered done then her fate was her own fault. Deccan had stared back at the man in shock, but he had no other choice but to agree. He wouldn't risk his sister's life to save people he didn't even know. Not even the Witch, he was finding himself fascinated with, sitting in the window.
He shoved away the guilt of what he was doing, it wouldn't do any good. He'd made up his mind and he wasn't a creature built to back down. He pulled the lighter from his pocket and walked silently into the house, cloaking himself from their senses. All he needed right now was to be caught in a fight with three Witches and a Were, he'd already drained most of his power watching them the past two nights. The King had been very exact in what he wanted done and Deccan was not going to be taking any chances. He walked silently up the stairs, stopping outside the door where he could hear them talking.
"Are you sure he won't hurt Dani?" Her voice alone did strange things to his mind and body, reacting in a way he never had before. This was normal for a Fairy close to maturing, especially one that hadn't taken a mate yet, but that didn't mean he had to like what the Witch was doing to him. It would be just his luck to screw this up because he couldn't think straight with her so close.
"She's his mate and besides I taught Farron better than to hurt a young woman, unless of course she deserved it." Of course, he thought sarcastically. From he'd found out in his brief research of the future King he'd had a knack for whoring around like a cat in heat before he'd found his mate. Deccan frowned, why should he care? Its none of his concern what any of these people are like, he's here to kill them so what does it matter?
[The Witch]
My entire body hurt, but in a good way. The mark on my neck was sore but I guess that because Farron had to bite me. I'm gonna get him for that, once I can talk myself into getting up and away from his very warm, very naked body. I don't think I've ever been more tired than I am right now and I just woke up, what is up with that? When I thought about sleeping with Farron, I never thought it would be by the lake we met at, but he said it would be more romantic. You wanna know what I think? I think he's full of shit, because now I am froze and there are bugs trying to eat me alive. The next time he tries to drag me out here my shoe is going up his ass. Then we'll see how romantic he thinks it is.
