Chapter 4

Today was the day that I'll be hanging out with August I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not nervous because I am.

I decided to put on some ripped jeans and a champion shirt with my high top converse. I put my hair in a slick back pony tail.

I walked in the bathroom and brushed my teeth to get ready for the school day. I walked downstairs to eat me some oatmeal.

"Good morning sweetheart" my dad said

"Morning" I said dryly

I was still pissed off at him and how he come off at me.

August 🤦🏽‍♀️: be ready by 8:00 tonight. I'll see you at school 😘

I read the text and didn't reply. It was going on 7:15 and school started at 7:30. I walked out to my car and played Racks Blue by future.

When I pulled into school it was 7:25, I didn't bother to go to my locker so I just went straight to class. When I got there I saw that girl named liyah.

"Kiara come over here" she said

I did a fake smile because something about her just didn't sit right with me. She was fake asl and I saw right through her. But I bit my tongue and went over there towards her.

She was talking about the kickback and how it gotten shot up. That made the back of my hairs stand up but I acted like it didn't phase me.

(Skipping to the end of the school day)

It was now time to go home and I saw August outside with his homeboys .

"Wassup Kiara" August smiled

"Wassup August" I said back and got into my car

August walked over to my car and we was making small talk till I seen liyah coming out of school with a mug on her face. Like bitch you already ugly fix your face.

"August is there something you wanna tell me, because that liyah chick looking over here and she mugging at us" I said

"Man look. She tired to put a baby on me that wasn't mine, we fucked around for a little while but I got my eyes on you. Fuck what she got going" he said

I didn't know weather to be mad or be happy. But I knew that it was gonna take time for me to trust him or her.
I drove home and freshened up for tonight.

I went downstairs and waited till I seen August pull up.

I walked to the car and got in. I noticed how August was dressed. I smirked to myself. We really didn't say nothing the whole ride. We pulled up at the movies.

"You ready" he said looking at me.

"Yeah, lets go"

We walked in and the movie was good. I ended up falling asleep on August though.

We was now on our way home, August walked me to my door.

"I had fun tonight" he said

"Me too" I smiled

August leaned in and so did I. We kissed and boy was I happy.

But I wasn't gonna let things get heated that fast.

I pulled away.

"Goodnight August" I smiled
I walked in the house and there my dad was ready to start bitching.

"Why you acting like a hoe" he said and slapped me

I ran upstairs and packed my stuff up.

I ran outside and started walking. I noticed August car at the stop sign. I knocked on the window and he let me in.

"Please don't ask me what happened" I cried

He didn't say nothing. We drove to his house and got out.

"You can sleep in my room and I'll sleep on the couch" he said

He showed me his room and I walked inside closed to door and climbed into bed. Wondering what my next move was gonna be. I could only think August for taking me in.
