"Why don't you invite your friend over today? We should have him for dinner." Jimin's mother exclaimed as she flipped through continuous pages in her favorite magazine.

"Since when were you so open? I thought you wanted me not to make any friends here. I see you changed your mind quickly." The boy said whilst drying off the last dish in the sink.

His mother stared up from her magazine at him in awe. She couldn't go back on her word. She really liked Yoongi, she thought of him as Jimin's new best friend.

"Well I can't punish you for having friends now can I?"

"You told me not to talk to anyone. You told me to have a bad attitude with everyone so no one would associate with me. Now you want me to have friends even though I can't be myself." Jimin said to his mother.

"One friend. One friend is not going to hurt you as much. Besides, Yoongi seems like a well-mannered human being. He doesn't seem aggressive, or disrespectful to me or to you." Jimin's mother told as she stared back at her magazine.

"So did Jackson, and his other ignorant friends. Now look where we are. I just want to be myself, mom." The boy had so much more to say. He had been holding back on it for the longest. How long was he suppose to pretend that everything was okay.

That acting like a bad kid was the right path to go on.

"I'll be in my room if you need me." That was all he said in order to stop himself from going any further and starting an argument with his mother.

Namjoon typed away on his smartphone, trying to find a way to put an end to his boredom. He finally saw his brother walk in from wherever he was. He would never tell Namjoon where he would go.

It wasn't any of his business anyway.

"Taehyung!" Namjoon called, but Taehyung ignored, as usual. He had nothing to say to his brother. It was just as pointless as talking to a brick wall. "Tae!" He called again, yet he was still ignored.

"Look Taehyung -"

"Stop fucking touching me!" Namjoon froze, and so did Taehyung for a second before he ripped himself away from Namjoon's grasp.

"I just wanted to ask if you wanted to play basketball, but it's okay. I know you hate me anyway." Namjoon proclaimed as he backed away from Taehyung. He felt dejected. His heart felt a little more heavier.

He didn't have his brother anymore.

"Why? Why now all of a sudden? You're barely even home." Taehyung admitted before shoving his phone into his pocket.

"What do you mean all of a sudden? I've always wanted to hang out with you, but you were always gone." Namjoon defended himself.

"Because you're always gone!" Taehyung shouted, but saw Namjoon flinch at the volume.

"But you never talk to me. You never even make an attempt to contact me and tell me that you're okay at least." The elder felt a little betrayed by his brother for not communicating with him when he would leave and never return.

"Because you're so overprotective, hyung."

"Because you're my baby brother, dammit! Brothers are supposed to protect each other. Siblings look out for one another. I can't lose you like I lost Jisoo." Taehyung stared up at Namjoon in complete agony. That's the only way he could describe it. Unbearable mental pain.

"We all lost her, hyung. You, me, mom, Lisa, and dad. You're not the only one who's suffering here." Taehyung stared deeply into his brother's eyes. He could see how emotional Namjoon was. He was fighting back stubborn tears.

"Then why are you trying so hard to ignore me. Shouldn't we at least try to..." Namjoon fell silent. Why couldn't they act like brothers even though they didn't want to.

"Communicate? Forget about everything? I can't do that Namjoon. Why don't you just move out. Get your own house, then we won't have to communicate with each other anymore. It would make things a lot less awkward for us if you just leave." The younger rocked back and forth from his heels to his ballerina toes, avoiding all eye contact with his brother.

Namjoon looked down at his own feet as a tear dropped on his sock. Why would he think Taehyung actually would want to play with him, or even talk to him again.
Taehyung wasn't trying to make it easy for Namjoon. The hardest it was to compromise with Taehyung, the more faith Namjoon would lose in their relationship.

Taehyung thought it was best for them to become and stay distant from each other for a very long time.

Namjoon finally glared back at his little brother in a heartbroken expression written on his face. "Do you really want me to leave? Do you hate being my brother, or something?"

"Yes. I can't remember the time when I actually enjoyed spending time with you. You're so annoying when it comes to people I like. Every friend I've ever had hates me now. Because you always bully them. You're a terrible role model, Namjoon. I don't and will never have any respect for you anymore." Taehyung explained as he walked through the hallway and into his bedroom.

Taehyung's words ripped through Namjoon like a freshly sharpened sword.

It hurt.

A hell of a lot more than Namjoon could handle anymore.

When did time fly by so fast? When did reality finally slap Namjoon in the face?
