Dagian, even this young a person, provided everything for his mother. He had done so as soon as he could for he did not like the job bestowed on her. He was nineteen now and had expected his mother would deem him finally old enough. He wished to know who his father might be. She had made him swear never to go near him when he would be informed.

When he asked why she had said nothing. In his frustration, he had gone into the woods to hunt. He hoped it would cool his blood and he could return with good reasoning to persuade her, or at least attempt to once more.

Sadly his plan proved to be fruitless as he had come up with nothing. He pursed his lips thought while he hauled his kill back to their tiny house. Dagian did not understand why they lived there. The area was secluded and surrounded by the forest, it was practically impossible to find.

However, it proved to be not impossible enough. When Dagian arrived at their house, it was abandoned. He called out to his mother time and time again. No response came.

His heart was trashing against his ribcage as he looked around wildly. The blond half long locks flying in his desperation to lay eyes upon his mother once more. Where could she be? She never left the house.

It was only when Dagian sunk into a chair in devastation, his mind still in havoc, that he saw it. A paper laid on the ground. He walked over and picked it up.

If you ever claim to be my son or how you came to be, she will die. - your unfortunate sire

That was it. There was no mention of what they had done to his mother, nor why. Why was this even happening?

Dagian sunk down to his knees. He knew full well that he needed to hurry along and leave their small cabin behind or risk the consequences in case they returned. The bleary truth was that he had just lost the one person he had considered to be by his side for a long time and he had nothing left.

He was all alone in this cruel world, the only light in this darkness would have been the thoughts of his soulmate running rampant in his mind, he had lost them soon after he gained them.

Once he had managed to gather his wits and pull himself back together he packed all his essentials and left the house. Dagian could not trust the man that had sired him. If he knew of his whereabouts, he could come back for him.

He wandered through the woods for weeks. He survived on his hunting and the water in streams.

He shunned humanity as he was afraid of what they might bring. The sole human contact he had was at the beginning of the fourth week.

Dagian came across a peculiar sight that day. Two horses stood in the middle of an open field with two small figures huddled together on the ground. Intrigued, he stopped and hid in the bushes.
