Hanji smiled. He was trying to respect her privacy. She got dressed and pulled her hair into her signature messy ponytail.

"Where are my glasses?" Hanji muttered.

She squinted and looked around.

"On the torch to your right four-eyes!" Levi yelled.

Hanji looked and sure enough, there were her glasses. She pulled them on and walked out.

"So, what's the surprise?" Hanji asked as she and Levi walked down the hall.

"Tch, how the hell can it be a surprise if I tell you?" Levi said.

"Huh, fair enough," Hanji replied.

Levi led her outside. Hanji was confused as to why. Levi pushed her towards his horse.

"Get on," he said.

Hanji did. Levi got up in front on her. He snapped the reins and rode off.

"Where are we going?" Hanji asked.

"You'll see," Levi replied.

A little later, they reached the lake. Hanji jumped off the horse and ran to the water's edge. Levi followed her. Hanji turned around and looked at him, excitement in her eyes.

"Go for it," Levi said, a bit of smile on his lips.

Hanji squealed and ran, fully clothed, into the lake. She transformed the moment the water touched her skin. Levi sat on the sand and watched. Hanji shot out of the water and did a flip. Levi felt a little happiness tug at his lips.

"Levi! Come swim with me!" Hanji said.

"No," Levi replied.

Hanji swam up to him and pouted.

"Finish whatever experiments or notes you want to do and then I'll join you," Levi said.

"This is the first time you're out here freely. Enjoy it."

Hanji smiled and hugged him.

"OFF SHITTY GLASSES!" Levi said.

Hanji laughed and went back into the water. She tested her speed, strength, how long she could hold her breath, everything she could think of that involved her mermaid side. Levi was glad that Hanji got to have a little fun. Truth be told, this wasn't easy for her. Having the ability to turn into something different but also having to keep it a secret is extremely difficult. Levi froze hearing hoof-beats getting close.

"Shit!" he said.

He ran to the water but didn't see Hanji. The sound of hooves against the ground stopped.

"Levi, what are you doing out here?" came a familiar voice.

"Commander Erwin," Levi said.

"Why are you out here?" Erwin asked.

"I um..." Levi said.

"Levi! It's amazing! I can swim so fast!" Hanji exclaimed coming to the shore.

"And guess how long I can..."

She froze seeing Erwin. Erwin stared at her. Hanji's tail glistened in the sunlight and water, so there was no hiding it.
