Chapter Eighteen: The truth comes out

This will be told from Shane's POV.

That night we slept in Riley's room. But none of us slept, we were to paranoid to.

That morning

We were all eating in the living room, eating what well....... CHIPOTLE..... Ok you probably already knew that. I told Riley to go in Morgans room, once she was in there I started talking "I called my mom early and told her what we were going to do, she said we can bring Riley to her house. " " I'm scared, what if they take her, I love her we all do. " Ryland said almost crying. Morgan hugged Ryland as he started to cry on her shoulder. We all hugged him and comforted him.

At Teresa's house

"Riley you have Tomme bear, and everything else. Be good, ok." Andrew said

"Daddy where are you going." Riley asked worried. "Me and the others are going somewhere it's ok. We'll be back soon." Andrew said "ok daddy, I love you all." Riley said hugging our legs.

Ryland, and Morgan run out of the house. 'There Crying' I said in my head.

We kiss Riley on her forehead, and left.

At the court house

We had already gotten in contact with Riley's parents, we have been talking to them about Riley for awhile and they haven't gotten angry about it. But, you can clearly hear sadness in there voices.

"So why did you abandon Riley?" Ryland asked impatiently. We were making him wait, but now it seems like he has reached his limit.

Riley's Mom: *sigh* well I knew this would come out sooner or later. We abandoned Riley because we owed a lot of money to a very big mafia. They forced us to abuse her, and when she turned five, we couldn't take it anymore. We had to leave her. We never wanted this to happen. And I know that you want to adopt her so send the papers to *adress* and we will sign them.

Riley's dad: Just make sure to keep her safe. Please.

"We promise. And we hope the best for you." And we ended the call.

That night we picked up Riley and went home, happy.
