Queen Felicity Lowell's Point of View
"Say it again, Felicity," Dimitrius whispered in my ear. Tonight held many firsts. My first kiss, my first of having sex, and my first time saying 'I love you, ' to a man. Was it worth it? Definitely.
"I love you with all my heart, body, and soul, King Dimitrius, " I told him while looking straight in his love-filled eyes.
Still naked, I felt Dimitrius' member pressing up against my leg. We were both lying down, facing each other while his hand played with the strands of my hair.
He said, "I would love to hear that for the rest of my life." Then, I realized something. Being a pure blood, the girl from the prophecy, the mate of the vampire King, does any of that make me an immortal creature?
"Dimitrius, will I ever die?" I asked hoping to get an answer. His face turned to a small frown and his eyes left mine for a second.
"I don't know, Felicity. You grew up just like a human being but with that mark on your neck, I don't know what would happen."
He landed a soft kiss on my lips which I returned with a passionate one. "You're worrying, " I whispered. "Don't, Dimitrius."
"How can I not? I don't want to lose you, " he replied while holding my hand with his. "I just got you back."
"I'm only nineteen, Dimitrius. We have decades. I mean, I'm going to grow grey and old, have wrinkles, white hair, weak bones, but you'll be there, right?" I asked and thought about the future we may have together.
"Have you ever thought of being a vampire?"
Silence embraced our atmosphere as I started at him with wide eyes while he waited for my response. Of course, it has crossed my mind by a few times about the thought of becoming one but do I want to?
I don't know.
"Dimitrius, I think I'd want to live a normal life for the moment. Do things such as travelling the world and falling in love. Experience humanity, " I told him honestly.
"Who said you can't do that when you're one of us?" He asked and continued by saying, "I was twenty-two when my human life ended, Felicity. Sure, there were times that I missed it but being a vampire also held its own advantages. I met you, the mate bond happened."
I gulped as he traced his fingers on my skin, creating small heart patters. "I don't know, Dimitrius. I need time to think about it."
He nodded his head and laid his head flat, not facing me anymore. While looking at the ceiling, he said, "Just know that whatever you choose, I'll support you. Even as you grow old looking like a grandmother, I'll love you with my life and when the time has come and you're about to take your last breath, I will die with you."
I stood up, sitting down beside him. "You don't have to do that, Dimitrius. You were gifted with eternity, don't end it because of me. You know that I have less than a century to live if I choose to die as a human."
He shrugged his head. "By then, I have lived my life, Felicity. Every second and every breath I take with you will be the proof that I lived eternity to the fullest because if you die, I don't want to be in pain. I want to be in peace with you. Besides, vampires would want a new leader after the two of us. Our heir, " he whispered.
