Skai's cell phone rang, and she ran across the room.

"It's about time you call me back." Skai answered her phone.

The girl replied, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I've been working, I got a job."

Skai gasped. "Layla!? Is this you? I think I heard you say that you have a job!"

"Haha. Real funny. Yes, I have a job. Mom is making work so I can get out of the house."

Layla is Skai's younger sister. More like best friends, they are very close.

"But enough about me, how are things with Tyler?" She was eager to know if Skai has finally heard from Tyler after the disaster last week.

Skai sighed. "Nothing. At all. I haven't received a phone call nor a text..."

"Have you seen her? I mean, you both go to the same college... shit, you two live next door!"

"Language, Lay. Don't let mom hear you. But she hasn't been to class. She's completely dropped off the face of the earth!" Skai said, throwing her hand up with frustration.

"Have you asked her friends or family?"

"I asked her roommates, they said she just left and hasn't come back. None of them have heard from her either.." Skai's phone went off in her ear. She had a text, but didn't bother to read it or see who it was from.

"What the hell? That's so stupid! How could she leave? Where would she go? Skai, go look for her!" Layla questioned and demanded her.

Skai sat there, getting lost in her thoughts. Wondering what she should do, what was going on. She didn't know anyone that she could call to ask about Tyler. She's never gone this long without seeing or speaking to her ever since they started school together. She wasn't sure how much longer she could take it.

"Skai, are you ok?"

She snapped out of her thoughts real quick, and answered Layla. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking about what I should do. But hey, I'm not gonna keep you. Mom will have dinner ready soon," she looked at her phone and checked the time, "very soon actually. Give mom a hug for me. I love and miss you."

"Mom is never late with dinner, haha. But I will do that. I love and miss you more." Layla replied, and they hung up their phones.

As Skai hung up, she smiled to herself. She really did miss her family back home, and couldn't wait to see them again.

She looked down at her phone. One text message. She clicked on her message app, and her heart dropped all the way down to her stomach. She felt as if her body had completely shut down, and she had no control over what she was feeling.

'Tyler: I will be back tomorrow afternoon. 12:30 at the latest. I'm coming straight to your place. I love you xoxo.'

She felt her heart actually breaking in her chest, each tear running down her cheek. Skai couldn't help but wonder if she really meant that, "i love you." Such a powerful word, with so much meaning behind it. How could she say that after she just leave her clueless and broken hearted? No explanation, no nothing. She just left. Reading her words over and over again, trying to convince herself that this was really real.

She finally put her phone down, and laid herself down. So many thoughts filled her head. She cried herself to sleep that night. Tyler was the last thing on her mind, as she is every night.

Tossing and turning all night, she was dreaming of Tyler all over her. Kissing her lips, telling her that she couldn't stay. Touching her, telling her that it would be alright. Whispering "but I will always love you" in her ear. Skai begging her to stay through her silent moans.

Skai jumped up from her sleep, hearing loud noises. She rubbed her eyes, trying to wake herself so she could find out what all the noise was. Knocks were coming from the door. Skai looked down at her phone... 12:26pm.. Tyler.
