April 21, 1813
A loud slamming sound echoed through the room. I assumed Dominik had shut the door of his bedroom, trapping me inside, but my eyes were still closed so there was no way of knowing for sure.
I jumped at the sound of a deep chuckle that erupted into a laugh. I was suddenly filled with a burst of anger. There was literally nothing funny about my accusations. I knew that they were true, I just needed closure. The only way I was going to get that was from the demon himself.
My eyes shot open and I knew my face was red with rage. His laughs died down and his facial expression turned blank.
"A demon, huh?" He sneered.
"Yes, Dominik, that is what I said." I straightened up my posture trying to look less small and helpless. I'm pretty sure nothing could make a girl who's 5' 1" look intimidating but I had to try.
He snatched my jaw with his hand and firmly yet tenderly held it towards his face. "And you're sure I'm the demon? What if you're the demon." He said in complete seriousness.
I stepped back snapping my jaw out of his grasp. I was backed up against the door.
"No I'm not! What type of reverse psychology is this?"
"Well, I know for a fact I'm not a demon. Those are nasty creatures and the only way you would know that I was one is if you were one yourself."
"What does that even mean and what the hell are you?!" I whined.
"I was a human, of course, all people like me start out like that. I was murdered by a real demon. And the strangest thing happened I woke up and I wasn't in heaven. Shocking right? I was still on this bloody earth! I've been here for centuries, forever remaining 19."
"So, you are immortal AND a demon?"
"Yes, yes I'm immortal but could you please keep up. I am not a demon. Oh and don't make me repeat myself again. Or, you know, you'll regret it."
"But you just said th-" Dominik interrupted me by placing both his hands on the door. They were on either side of me, blocking my escape.
"Listen up, you little tramp! I tried explaining this to you nicely but obviously you have some hearing problems that need to seriously be checked out. I don't like it when people below me try to question me. I hate it even more when these assumptions come from a little orphan girl who doesn't know a thing about this world. I am not a demon! I'm a vampire! I was created by a demon when he snatched my human life away from me and decided I'd make a good vampire. Now I'm cursed to eternity with an uncontrollable bloodlust, that I've become rather fond of, just so you know. Oh and turns out I'm stuck with a disobedient, mouthy brat as a bride!"
He pushed his hands off of the door and refused to make eye contact with me. He disappeared into the secret room within his bedroom and locked himself in.
I felt a pang in my chest almost like I just got rejected which to some degree I did. I definitely was majorly insulted by the biggest psycho vampire in the universe, though.
I didn't care because this was the perfect moment to launch my escape plan.
I sprinted out the door, slowing into a walk whenever I saw a guard. Once I reached my bedroom, I searched through it until I found a large cotton bag.
I decided to take three pairs of shoes: a pair of black flats, a pair of shiny white ones, and the pink ballerina slippers I was already wearing. I packed five beautiful gowns that caught my attention. I gathered up as many toiletries that I could fit and two pairs of stockings.
