Dominik's POV
I can't say I'm surprised that she ran away after realizing that she kissed me and I carelessly let that word pass through my lips.
I thought as I slip on my navy blue sweater and zip up my black pants. Even though we never shared such an intimate moment like yesterday, I'm tired of always chasing after that girl.
She drives me insane; I look at myself in the mirror smirking... but in a good way? Oh boy do I've got my hands full with this one.
I think about last night and how close I was to her and how alive I felt with her heartbeat so near me.
Dammit I'm thirsty.I made my way to the kitchen and grab ahold of the nearest servant and tilt their head exposing their neck. She was the young ginger haired servant that I assigned to Angel. She winced as her brown eyes stared at her arm that was now turning red. I lessened my grip on her and growled, "Fetch me some fresh blood and boil it in the tea kettle. You know how I like it."
I have no clue why I decided not to drink her blood. I guess I just was bored of her...I hate food that's already been bitten into.
I open the door of the kitchen that led to the dining hall. To see a typical gossip fest between Vera and her friend Polly Johnson. She has been a family friend since she was turned into a vamp back in the late 1700s.
"Hey Vera. Polly." I nod and that's when I caught a whiff of Angel's scent. Cute, she's debating with herself outside to see if she should come inside.
I answer for her, walking over and opening the door. Her quick intake of breath and her eyes widened, of course her next reaction is to turn a bright shade of pink.
"Come on in, Angel, I won't bite." A grin appears on my face as I whisper into her ear.
"Sure you won't." She smirks taking a step back then pushing past me. Well talk about bipolar, I roll my eyes.
She takes a seat across from Vera and surprisingly she receives a smile from Polly who sat at Vera's left.
Evangeline's POV
Of course, she's not a complete bitch when she's not around the other two snakes. Yup, she was one of the three girls from the wedding gala that totally ignored my presence.
Maybe I should reintroduce myself. "I'm Evangeline Klein. It's a pleasure to see you again." I strain to smile and I notice that Dominik retreats into the kitchen. Dick.
"Hi I'm Polly Johnson, strictly a family-friend. Don't worry I won't try to steal you husband unlike that whore, Alexandra."
I raise my eyebrows and glare at Vera for spilling my secrets. She nervously laughs and nudges Polly. "I told you not to say anything." She says through gritted teeth.
"It's okay, everyone knows Alexandra is a gold digger unlike Evangeline. I don't care what Margaret and Fiona say. You are totally cool for rejecting the duke, at first. It's good to get to know your significant other before marrying them. I wish it was the same for me. When I was a LOT younger I was forced to marry this man. Turns out he was an abusive demon. No like actually...horns and everything. He even turned me so that I could stay with him for all eternity or something stupid like that. I left him as soon as I met Vera, she knows how to help a girl out. Now I'm here. Well I don't live here but I'm the Duchess of Manchester, married to Sebastian Johnson, the hottest blonde in the world. He's a vamp too."
