Chapter 209
Rowan's Point of View
As I came down the hallway the smell of pancakes wafted through the air. I approached the kitchen and felt my heart swell at the sight before me. Abel was watching cartoons on his iPad eating his pancakes; syrup dripping down his chin onto his dinosaur pajama shirt. Trinity was grinning at him sipping on a mug of coffee. Jax was holding Rae on his hip pouring more pancake batter onto the griddle. Trinity smiled when she looked up from her phone and got up, pouring a mug of coffee, then offering it to me.
"Thank you." I smiled, then blew into the mug, taking a small sip of the hot liquid.
"Surprised you can still walk right." Trinity said over her shoulder as she sat back down at the table. She glanced up at me, smirking. Confusion creased my brow. "What do you mean?"
Jax answered for her. "Uh, we might not have been as quiet as we thought we were when we were..." He turned and looked at me sheepishly.
"Oh!" I yelped. "Oh god. No!" I shook my head and looked at Trinity horrified.
"Kinda sounded just like that." Trinity laughed and Jax did too.
My cheeks flooded with heat as I walked over and smacked Jax in the stomach. He laughed and shook his head giving me one of those it's-not-my-fault looks. "You're a screamer." Jax said, staring at me smiling.
"Screamer!" Abel repeated Jax's words and I glared at Jax as Trinity busted out laughing. Abel let out a high pitched scream and then hid his face behind his hands. "Abel likes to repeat things...did I not mention that?"
Jax flipped a pancake and chuckled. When he turned back around I noticed there were Cinderella stickers on his kutte. As if I couldn't possibly love Jackson Teller more than I already do, seeing him holding our daughter and letting her stick Cinderella stickers on his kutte only made me love him more. Jax caught me staring and I smiled, leaning in and kissing him unexpectedly. "I like the new patches." I pointed to the stickers and winked. He looked down and smiled then looked at Rae. "I am completely wrapped around her little finger."
"I can see that. I've taught her well." Rae had a handful of the stickers in her hand and put one on my cheek. "Morning, baby girl." I kissed her fingers. "Are you hungry?"
Jax handed Rae over to me and I put her in her high chair and strapped her in.
"I'm gonna go take a quick uneventful shower." Trinity announced and then headed down the hallway, coffee mug in hand.
I was never going to live down this mornings shower incident. I laughed to myself and shook my head. I didn't really care. Jax was home and I was happy as hell. Nothing was going to squash that. Jax walked a pancake over and dropped it onto Rae's tray. I gawked at him. "She needs a plate and a fork."
Jax shrugged. "Why? She can pull it apart."
"She's not a caveman." I smirked and he rolled his eyes, but smiled, grabbing her a plate out of the cabinet. He sat it down on her tray and put the pancake on top of it. "You have to pull it apart for her too." I instructed him. "She's good with chewing and swallowing, but I still like to be cautious."
"What all do they like to eat in the morning? Abel told me pancakes, but I wasn't sure whether he would really eat them." Jax asked, pinching Rae's pancake apart. She picked up a piece and shoved it in her mouth.
I sat down in a chair between Rae and Abel and sipped my coffee. "Abel will eat pretty much anything in the morning, cereal, eggs, toast. It's all the other meals he has issues with. Right now he's on a cheese kick. So only cheesy foods. Rae is pickier. She does like pancakes though. But I usually just give her a cut up banana and a bottle in the morning. She's a snacker, so she likes to munch on different things through the day."
