SEEING BLIND
—44| James Fucking Toronto.
The first day back after Christmas and nothing had changed. Apart from the fact then when Luke was watching Annie and Andre walking in, they weren't holding hands. He wanted to celebrate by fucking cheering at the top of his lungs, maybe even sing a song of celebration, but instead he opted for a small unnoticeable fist pump.
Annie was looking at the floor, and Luke noticed she was wearing glasses, they must be new. She looked so good, her hair was natural, and she was wearing some jeans and a top with a thick cardigan over the top, she looked comfortable and Luke really wanted to cuddle her.
He had been doing so well the past two weeks with not thinking about her as much, he spent a lot of time with his grandad, everyday almost. His grandad was good at distracting him, which was what he needed really, he needed to get her off his mind. He'd done so well up until now.
The bell had gone as soon as Annie and Andre walked in, leaving them not too much time to get their books and what not. Luke and his 'friends' never went at the bell, they always hung around a little longer because apparently that was cool.
This also gave James and his goonies time to push around whoever was late, to make them even more late and worried and upset. Today it was Andre again. When Annie had closed her locker the pair started walking towards Andre's, not before James shoved him into the lockers, a loud bang disturbing nobody in the classrooms. They were used to it.
James is mocking him, tugging at his clothes and pinching at his skin. Luke looked to Annie briefly before glancing away, tapping his foot as he waited for the scene to be over.
Annie let out a loud sigh before making her way next to James and weakly shoving him away, "for fucks sake, find something better to do." She groaned, glancing at Andre to make sure he was ok.
Luke raised an eyebrow at her boldness, she never swore and the fact it was at James was even more surprising.
"Like you, princess?" James' hand brushed against her cheek, tilting her glasses up with a smirk. Luke took a few steps closer to the scenario, closer to James as he wanted his hands off of Annie.
"Stay the fuck away from her Toronto, if it weren't for your parents you'd be behind bars right now." Andre hissed, stepping in front of Annie and narrowing his eyes at the taller, broader, black haired boy.
Luke's eyebrows furrowed, his concentrated face trying to figure out what Andres words meant. His eyes settled on James who was winking at Annie with a devilish smirk on his face. Annie had tears in her eyes, her hands crossing over her body self-consciously, her eye focused on the floor.
Luke took two steps forward as his hands snapped out and shoved at James chest, slamming him against the lockers as Luke's left hand clutched painfully against James' neck, his other hand held up and ready to punch the living shit out of him. Everyone else stumbled back in surprise, never expecting Luke, of all people, to stand up to James.
"What the fuck did you do Toronto? I swear to god if you did what I fucking think you did, you'll need more than your parents to save you." Luke spat, his painfully clenched fist not being able to hold back as it struck against James' jaw, his head whipping to the side before turning back to Luke.
His lip was bleeding, and so was Luke's knuckles, but they weren't done yet, Luke needed answers.
"I don't know what you're talking about, man." James was still trying to act like the strong one, the confident one but when he saw the look of utter hatred and fury in Luke's eyes he trembled a little, only a little. He could barely speak with Luke's tight grip on his throat, but he tried not to let that show no matter how sore it was becoming.
