Betty had been in the sisters for a while. She lost contact with everyone she loved, Polly Jughead, Archie, Veronica. She missed them so much but no one came for her. Not even her beanie wearing Romeo.
Jughead wanted to save her. He wanted her to be safe and in his arms, but he knew she would go through even more pain then she was already in if he tried to save her. He didn't do anything but he felt horrible the guilt slowly growing with each day Betty was in that place. He didn't eat, sleep, or go outside much at all. He occasionally went to school but when he did it felt different. Betty was his rock. He's everything. Without her it was weird. Everything had changed.
