A single drop of sweat ran down Taeyong's forehead. After long weeks of non-stop practice, he'd finally finished making the dance of the next comeback, which was keeping him really busy. He moved his pink colored fringe backwards and breathed in and out.
"Finally..." He whispered, feeling the pressure on his shoulders disappearing.
The clock marked 2:30 AM when he packed his stuff and made his way to the dorm, walking down the streets with puppy-like eyes.
Even though it was a lot past midnight he felt wide awake. The adrenaline of doing the whole choreography together for the first time was like drinking 6 cups of coffee.
...
The cold water felt really good on Jaehyun's skin. He allowed himself to enter the shower... legs, hair, arms... He felt the water flow, silently. Now his entire body was wet.
In the shower Jaehyun, not only cleaned himself, but his thoughts too. The next comeback was going to be hard. High notes, complicated dance, and a completely full schedule. It was tiring... And he would, for sure, have collapsed by now if it wasn't for Taeyong. That name... That name was running around Jaehyun's head for hours almost everyday. The way his eyes lighted up when he danced, his soft hair that smelled like peach, his pinkish lips...
Jaehyun shook his head, and tried to stop the thoughts right there. He couldn't continue like this. Of course he wanted to smell that hair. Of course he wanted to taste those lips. He would do anything for Taeyong's happiness, but he hadn’t worked his ass off to throw everything in the toilet for a crush. He was doing the thing he loved the most, in the best entertainment company in Korea, he couldn't ask for more and it was time to be an adult and learn when to use the brain instead of the heart.
And like this Jaehyun's day ended like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that one... exiting the shower in the middle of the night saying "No... It's too risky."
...
Two doors opened, and two pairs of eyes met.
"Jaehyun! What are you doing awake?!" Asked Taeyong, who had just entered the dorm.
"Oh... Taeyong... I could ask you the same question." Said Jaehyun, ear-blushing and trying to laugh away the awkwardness.
Taeyong laughed, and Jaehyun's heart skipped a beat.
"You know what...? Are you sleepy? If you're not let's go get some food or something." Said the pink haired one, conforming to his night owl lifestyle.
Jaehyun's mind tried to think of a cool, funny answer but decided to just nod instead.
...
After an hour of walking around the never-sleeping city of Seoul and some laughs they were both sitting on a grass esplanade next to the Han River. Jaehyun closed his eyes to concentrate on the sound of the big mass of water in front of him moving, the vehicles behind him, and the wind flowing.
The scene was beautiful, and inspiring. There were no stars, but the bright Taeyong was sitting right next to him. And speaking of the devil, he had been looking at Jaehyun for several minutes now. "Fuck it" he thought, and began his plan.
"Uhm... Jaehyun, would you mind not opening your eyes for the next five minutes? And don't ask any questions... Please" Taeyong said, feeling his heart speed up, knowing what he was about to do.
Jaehyun, who was now laying in the grass, let a soft "okay" leave his mouth and kept his eyes shut, a little confused about Taeyong's request.
Taeyong looked at the river again and took the deepest breath of his life. He looked at the innocent Jaehyun, and tried to blank his mind.
He started to lean in, and stopped when he was 1 inch away from Jaehyun's face. He had never been this close to his face. He looked even more attractive from this close. Taeyong stayed in that position for long seconds, admiring Jaehyun's face and shaking. He was dead nervous.
As fast as a lightning Taeyong ended the distance between them, kissing Jaehyun.
Jaehyun opened his eyes. He was paralyzed. Happy, confused, daydreaming... He had been wanting this kiss for God knows how long, and now it was real. He knew he wasn't dreaming, he could feel Taeyong's warmth.
It took Jaehyun a bit to react, but he did. This was the chance he thought he was never going to have, and he hang on to that kiss like his life depended on it.
The two boys felt the time stop right there - both feeling like the main characters of a fairy tale.
Jaehyun grabbed Taeyong by his waist, and felt him smile through the kiss. Taeyong felt safe, he felt like fireworks were exploding in his chest, like all the pain he had been through was worth it just for this moment. He felt at home. Jaehyun felt like home.
They let each other's lips go, and just made eye-contact for a long time.
This beautiful night ended with Taeyong being pet while he was lying on Jaehyun's chest, both looking at Seoul's sky. Words weren't needed, they both knew now.
