warning : drinking, party, forced coming out
also ㅡ even if this is kevin×jacob centered, there are a few other ships too
. . .
Jacob had been sitting on that chair for almost two hours now. He didn't like parties, he had never been to one before, so why did he go to that one?
Kevin Moon was the answer. They were the only Canadian exchange students from their semester, so they were pretty close at first but Kevin was much more extrovert than Jacob so he quickly made friends and they grew apart.
Jacob, on the other hand, still thought about his classmate. Since the first day they met he noticed something different in him... A bright light behind his dark eyes, and an incomparable passion everytime he spoke up... Furthermore they both shared their love towards music, they were artists.
He knew he had a crush on Kevin because he had never been that nervous around someone in his life, not even being as shy as he was. He felt incapable of looking into Kevin's eyes and his hands started sweating, his heart beat faster too, and he prayed that Kevin didn't approach him too much so he couldn't see him blush. He didn't care he was a man, he didn't care they were still 18, he knew he had fallen for that Kevin boy.
The DJ, Han Jisung, was playing music too loud in Jacob's opinion but Kevin seemed to disagree since he was giving everything on the living room.
Jacob crossed his legs and grabbed the drink with both of his hands, asking himself why was he so stupid that he went to a party just to see his highschool crush when he was clearly out of his league.
Maybe it's true, maybe love makes people go dumb, he thought.
"What's wrong, Jacob?" Said Seonghwa - who was seating next to him - with a sigh, reading his eyes, already knowing the answer.
Jacob didn't answer and stared at the ground, shacking his head. Seonghwa didn't bother to ask again, knowing that insisting on the boy would be useless. He was one of the few friends Jacob had made since he came to Korea. They understood each other really well.
They stayed in silence looking around: Seungmin, Hyunjin and Chan wasted and cuddling on the couch, Younghoon and Minho in the kitchen talking about God knows what, and lots of other people who Jacob didn't know the name of dancing or chatting.
"GUYS" The host of the party, named San, screamed at the top of his lungs so Jisung would stop the music. "Let's play a game all together!"
So there they were, 29 boys, some of them sitting on the ground and others on two perpendicular couches.
They were about to play truth or dare. It started off mild, asking each other embarrassing stories or making the player drink disgusting mixes. Because of the last one everyone was getting more and more drunk.
The bottle moved again, pointing at Woojin. Some of them cheered and Hoongjoong, a friend of Seonghwa, phrased "truth or dare?"
Woojin chose dare and Hoongjoong laughed, making his blushed cheeks stand out even more, "Give a hickey to Chan."
Everyone gasped, it wasn't a secret that Chan was attracted by Woojin, and even if it were, Chan's facial expression when he heard the dare made it all very clear.
Woojin approached the younger, who was on the other side of the circle and bent over, kneeling. While he caressed one of the other's checks, he went straight to kiss roughly the connection between his neck and shoulder. Chan hid his face with his bangs and right hand, while the other grabbed Woojin's wrist. Seconds later they pulled apart and the only thing left of Chan was a bright-red blushed corpse laying on the floor.
Luckily the rest were quick to skip onto the next player, spinning the bottle again, but Jacob was still thinking about the scene minutes later. That could have been Kevin and me.
That thought sent shivers down his spine, he felt somehow dirty for feeling that way and he was scared that something like that would actually happen, but at the same time it felt exiting. Love REALLY makes people go dumb.
The bottle stopped, now pointing at Seungmin. Seonghwa jumped out, Seungmin was like a son to him and we wouldn't let anyone make him do anything harmful. "Truth or dare?"
Seungmin blessed the room with one of his smiles and chose dare. Before Seonghwa could think of anything Changmin, Q to close friends, stood up from the couch and suggested that he should finish his cup at once, which was full. Seonghwa was about to say no but before he could even open his mouth, the younger had already started drinking. He sighed.
When Seungmin finished everyone cheered and Changbin put an arm over him so he could rest his head on the other's shoulder and process all that alcohol.
Time past by and the game was getting more intense, asking a little too personal questions and doing the "seven minutes in heaven" thing.
Jacob was starting to get scared, he had never done anything like this before... But his thoughts were stopped when the bottle pointed at him.
Hwall, one of the most sober between them, asked him the main question. After hesitating he chose truth, too anxious to risk playing seven minutes in heaven.
Jacob took a shot of his tequila while getting ready for the question.
"You like Kevin, right?" Said Seonghwa.
The room went silent, and Jacob could feel every bit of happiness leaving his body in the third of a second.
"Come on, it's obvious-" Drunk Seonghwa kept talking before Hoongjoong placed a hand on his mouth.
Jacob felt exposed, uneasy, insecure... Everything felt wrong, and he felt guilty and stupid for playing that game - and going to that party in the first place. There was one word echoing repeatedly on his head: stupid. Tears threatened to fall and he ran away.
Jisung, who was openly queer and had lived through a similar situation years before, stood up to talk to him, but Kevin stopped him. "I'll go."
